Robinho has suffered in the past few seasons with fitness, in part due to interrupted pre-seasons due to injury concerns. Allegri has already complimented him this summer on his approach to training and with a full pre-season under his belt I am sure that Robinho will be capable of contributing to the cause for us this season. As MTD has said, when Robinho is on top form he adds a lot to our overall play and I see little wrong with reducing his wage whilst ensuring that he will not depart on a free transfer given that Santos did not produce an acceptable offer.

AC Milan are reportedly in the running for Lazio midfielder Hernanes, according to Goal.com, with the midfielder having hinted that he may be open for a move away from the club this summer.
The Brazilian had a great season with the Serie A outfit last year and caught the eye of several of Europe's top clubs, including Inter, PSG and Milan. He boasts an impressive goalscoring record for a central-midfielder, with 29 goals in 100 appearances for Lazio.
The 28-year-old was recently on display for the Brazil national team during their Confederations Cup triumph, and on his return to Italy, he refused to rule out a possible transfer.
"I'll be going back to Lazio," he told Globo. "Only time will tell what happens next. However, I will soon be returning to training with the Biancocelesti."
Hernanes is considered to be a vital player at the Stadio Olimpico, but he may seek a move as the club failed to qualify for the European competitions last season, narrowly missing out on a Europa League place.
Although, Lazio president Claudio Lotito has previously rubbished claims that the playmaker will be sold this summer. He joined the club from Sao Paulo in 2010 and has since been regarded as a top player and a regular fixture in the Brazil squad.

Re: Mercato Rossonero: Milan Transfer Activity Inside Out
AC Milan are considering allowing young striker M’Baye Niang to leave the San Siro this summer as they struggle to restructure their attacking department for next season.
With Robinho suddenly set to remain at Milan after signing a contract extension and no firm offers received for Kevin-Prince Boateng, it seems that the 18-year-old is the man likely to face the exit door instead.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport the Frenchman would still have a future with the Rossoneri as his exit would only be a loan deal.
Once Milan have reduced numbers at the club they are expected to continue their pursuit for CSKA Moscow attacker Keisuke Honda, although he could still join in January. They have also been linked with a move for Fiorentina’s Adem Ljajic after the Serbian’s impressive season for the Viola last campaign.
Despite making 20 Serie A appearances last season, Niang made over half of those after starting from the substitutes bench.
As a result the Rossoneri could look to secure greater playing time for the youngster by sending him out on loan as he attempts to net his first Serie A goal.

Loan deal would be good, especially if it means we can get Ljajic/Honda. However I think SS in 4-3-1-2 will finally fulfil his potential and he should stay.

AC Milan are plotting a move for Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen, a player believed to be a long term target to Liverpool, reports talkSPORT.
The Danish midfielder is one of the most highly rated young prospects in Europe, and has already turned down a move to Bayern Leverkusen this summer.
The 21-year-old has hinted at being open to a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers reportedly making him his first choice summer signing after losing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Borussia Dortmund.
Therefore the news Milan have shown a genuine interest will be of great concern to the Reds, who will be desperate to not be beaten to two of their top summer targets.
Eriksen has already managed 36 caps for Denmark at the age of just 21, and Liverpool hope the prospect of him linking up with his international captain Daniel Agger may prove appealing.
The potential stumbling block lies in the fact Liverpool are unable to offer European football next season to a player described as one of the stars of the Erividese.
The transfer is due to take a twist, with Milan thought to be prepping a serious offer having scouted the midfielder last season, and Ajax admitting they are likely to lose the player, who has just one year left on his contract.

I would actually prefer Eriksen to all other rumoured targets as a purchase this summer - recognising that Hernanes is outside our price range - however I similarly can not see anything to the rumours, even if the club does suddenly receive an acceptable offer for Boateng.
I was expecting more rumours concerning a defender to arise by this stage in the market, however beyond Paletta who Parma have made a ridiculous appraisal of, all seems disappointingly quiet on this front.

Re: Mercato Rossonero: Milan Transfer Activity Inside Out
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani expects Keisuke Honda to join the Serie A giants in January when his contract with CSKA Moscow expires.
The Japan international is keen to link up with the Rossoneri this summer but CSKA's high asking price for the 27-year-old has now put the transfer on hold for at least the next five months.
Galliani told reporters that unless Milan can raise funds from external sources, the club will pursue Honda when he becomes a free agent.
"Honda's contract expires on December 31st and he can open up negotiations with other clubs, like us. I think he will arrive in January," said Galliani.
"I don't think he will arrive now unless some sponsor allows the move to take place.
"His price tag and his wages are just too high but if an external source were to intervene, then it could happen."

Rossoneri chief Adriano Galliani has revealed that the club were unwilling to meet PSV's €20m (£17.2m) valuation and has also ruled out signing a new striker this summer
AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has revealed that the club could not afford to pay the €20 million (£17.2m) that Roma splashed out on Kevin Strootman this summer.
The Dutch midfielder, 23, sealed a five-year deal to join the Giallorossi from PSV on Wednesday.
And Galliani admits that Milan pursued Strootman but claims his side were not willing to offer up the eight-figure sum demanded for the 23-year-old.
"Strootman is a very strong player who we had tracked for a while, but we did not have €20m for a player like him," the Rossoneri vice-president told Sky Sport.
"Roma did a great deal, though, as he is a player of the very highest level."
With the likes of Mario Balotelli, Giampaolo Pazzini, Stephan El Shaarawy and Robinho available in attack, Galliani also ruled out any summer moves for additional forwards.
“We are not looking for any strikers, because we already have players like Giampaolo Pazzini in the squad," he added.
Milan finished third in Serie A last term, while they also reached the last 16 of the Champions League before being knocked out by Barcelona.

I don't think its that we can't pay the 5 million. It's just that we can get him for free in January. So paying 5 million right now is just to have him play for us for 4 extra months. I agree with Galliani on this one. Let's add more to that 5 million and get a CB!M99 wrote:AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani expects Keisuke Honda to join the Serie A giants in January when his contract with CSKA Moscow expires.

I'd really like us to get our targets before we go the US, this habit of 'LAST WEEK BUYZ SAY TY TO BEST PREZ HE GIVEZ U PRESENT' doesn't give the player time to gel, train and work with the squad

Re: Mercato Rossonero: Milan Transfer Activity Inside Out
5 million is excessive for a player with only six months remaining on their contract, however I do think it important to bring in further creative reinforcements. Personally I would like to see an alternative such as Eriksen brought in - dependent upon Prince's departure - with Honda arriving for free in January. Personally I am not entirely comfortable with the keys to the team being handed to Honda, I would prefer to see him as a versatile option able to support several roles rather than simply being our new 10.
Funds must also potentially be kept in reserve for a defensive purchase if an attractive option becomes available, however at this stage there appear to be very few realistic alternatives and even fewer that I would like us to pursue.

What are people's thoughts on Zapata - Mexes?
Personally, I think that this is nowhere near up to scratch, especially considering that our main title competitors, Juve, have 4 CBs who are far better than either of our starters in Ogbonna, Bonucci, Chiellini and Barzagli.
What are the odds that Galliani plucks another "Thiago Silva" from obscurity?

Insufficient for a scudetto challenge, though likely adequate to once more qualify for the Champions League given that it is comparable or better than the central defences boasted by our main rivals for Europe.

I suppose they will do until we find out who's worthy of succeeding the lineage of great CB's that we usually have. Vergara looked real nice at the U-20 WC, but we'll have to see him in Serie A first. I don't know any other CB that may potentially be on the market, Mangala? Too expensive. Bruno Martins Indi? Don't know a whole about him besides playing for Feyenoord. Sakho? Maybe, but he loves PSG and he wants to stay there, the only reason he is causing a fuss is because he isn't starting and the captain's armband fiasco. In the end i'm hoping for Vergara to impress really

so thats why i am putting hopes on Vergara... kid has impressed me a lot especially with his U-20 game... what i had wished was Nesta was with him just as thiago silva was... every players with great potential need mentor... for Thiago silva, Nesta was huge, he even said himself that Nesta was his biggest influence that he has got now.
unfortunately vergara doesnt have that privilege but nevertheless i am convinced that vergara will be a good backup or even a starting 11 material...
the biggest regret is that why we had to loose salamon!!! i am still unhappy about it...

seems we might get Honda after all this summer. Bronzetti, who seems to be involved in our negotiation, has come out and said that milan are close to agreement with CSKA.
as for our transfer. i am pretty happy because we didn't have current privilege last summer market. as for our lack of spending... i am in wavelength with disappointment with my fellow posters that we couldn't spend like back in heydays but reality is that economic problems, berlusconi scandals, our club debts, matchday revenue, has always been a problem for us for years. plus we had high salary figures, and good thing we have put salary caps now... i think club has lowered to less than 100 million by now.
galliani has been trying to make AC Milan a self sustainable club, while focusing on Youth, and Financial Fair play will come too. so i am glad club has made some drastic measures. as for Fiorentina and Napoli spending big... let them... now they got everything to loose... if they dont perform.. their funeral.
while i am not quite happy that we are economically deprived, but i guess I have come to terms that Milan has understood the reality, and played by the rules of it.
I gotta feeling that we will quietly and confidently work hard and be surprise of the season. CL is a different scenario though, we dont yet have a fortress to fight against elite clubs just yet.

Last year's summer transfer window we got: Traore (free), Niang (4m), Acerbi (4m), NDJ (6m) (Constant (4m) and Pazzo (8m+Cassano) in total that made our budget 26 m
If we are operating under the same budget, then lets look at this window: Poli (3m), Zapata (6m), Vergara (2m), Saponara (4m), that makes it 15 m. If Honda comes in at say 4m , then we'd have exhausted 19m which leaves us at about 7m to mirror last year's budget. My point being: might there be someone else we're getting besides Honda right now
