Chelsea continues to discuss Schurrle with Wolfsburg

Schurrle is one of the key dominos in the January transfer window. Wolfsburg is interested in the Chelsea player and his sale would have an impact on Salah, Cuadrado and Douglas Costa. The former Bayer Leverkusen player would like to leave London to find more playing time. As we reported two weeks ago, Wolfsburg has offered €30 million to Abramovich's club, the contacts are ongoing between intermediaries working on the deal. Schurrle is pushing for the move to happen and he only wants to play for the club owned by Volkswagen. There is only one week left in window, and Wolfsburg wants to land Schurrle.

I haven't really had the time to follow the PL at all this season due to work, but from what I understand Schürrle has not played a lot. Has he been shit when he has?
Or why is he being sold?

Just not getting along with Mou? Seems like he would be his kind of player, this is weird to me.

He's been poor.

Can't defend as well as any of our other AM's, can't create anything, misses almost every chance he gets and doesn't offer anything.

It's probably just form, but it's been going on for 6 months or so, now. He'd be playing a lot if he found his WC form.

I understand that Chelsea are in no position to give such a player the time to recover his form in the title race, and also have the luxury of just replacing him, so I get the sell, then.

Was just wondering. Because the first 2 or 3 matches he got to play he seemed pretty great.

Yeah, he had some kind of illness around september, and hasn't been the same, since.

I honestly don't think he'll leave this Jan. Salah is worse and needs to be replaced first.

I just think Shirley will be fine either way. With Chelsea he'll eventually get another chance, and he's got the quality to make the first XI there eventually imho, if he'd really leave for Wolfsburg, it looks like they're bound for UCL participation next season, and he'd be one of their star players, and near-unbenchable.

He just needs to find some form, again.

Perhaps he'll do something like Oscar, who was poor last season, and now very solid this season.

Honestly, I'll miss Schurrle, always had a soft spot for him, but he just hasn't been good enough.

There were suggestions in the last day or so Dortmund wanted him as a replacement for Reus but would only bid in the summer, and wanted us to hold out until then. So I wouldn't expect any favours from them in the near future.
