No he doesn't live up to the hype, but that's because idiots watched him perform tricks and by the time he was 21 people were saying he was better than every attacker bar Messi.

Stupendous hype, a very good player who has the hype of a world beater.

Will he become one? Maybe, maybe not. But he's not average and is a victim of sensational over hype.

Maybe it's a case of Brazil angling for someone to be amongst Messi and CR. Desperate for one of their own to be amongst that Elite, and Neymar is the chosen one, even though he is not at that level.........yet (maybe, we'll see)

Oscar is the most impressive Brazilian youngster atm. He was brilliant v England, and you only needed to hear the bad reception his substitution got to know how well he did.

Nerman is amazing, complete package. somehow i feel like Barca will try to format him to fit messi and their rigid attack as opposed to allowing him to completely unleash his gifts. too bad

He doesn't have the luxury of having an adjustment season and with next year being the WC, he's going to have to hit the floor running.

sounds nice but how do you do that. Messi is such an immense cog in the team, ever since he moved in the middle it's been all about feeding him the ball and waiting to see what happens. And he made it work because he can do everything you can think of individually. How do you bring in another player and ask messi to share, to defend more than he is accustomed to now?

I don't see how Oscar is supposedly so much better than Coutinho.

I've seen Coutinho influence games far more than Oscar while the latter has garnered praise mostly for his European goals, and not his not-so-influential play this season.
