Is it really so hard to understand that a top player wants to play with the best? He's not going to be his bitch, he might take a support role but he'll be a partner, as every member of a team is.

Great signing, I give him the first year for adjustment to playing in Europe and not being the focus of an attack (something that will benefit him in the end if he has the right attitude). It's also worth noting that he's significantly younger than Messi - and if all does progress smoothly, he may become the focus of the attack at some point in the future

Simultaneously, hopefully I'm wrong and he's a titanic flop.

Barca Messi is a black-hole for forwards, sucks up all the goals/assists and will be the focal point for as long as he is able to walk...

Yep you can't really compare Villa and Ibra to Neymar because Villa was moved to an un-natural position for Messi and besides Villa was good before his injury.

As for Ibra their was no space for Ibra to drop back into that he has at every other club because Messi was occupying that space once Messi moved to central it was obvious it wouldn't work.

Neymar is a winger and has played there his entire career so doesn't fall into either category.

His problem was not being the focus of the attack - something he eventually adjusted to before getting injured.

The only reason Neymar has assumed the role of centre of attack for Santos is because he had to, otherwise they would have won F all.

Neymar is at any given point 10 times better than any other Santos player on the pitch, if you are far better than everyone else you are forced to assume centre of attack whether you like it or not.

Neymar won't have this problem at Barca in fact I won't be surprised if it liberates him and allows him to play more freely.

I do agree but as i said Villa was very good till his injury.

I doubt many Barca fans will complain if Neymar scores twice in the Clasico and in the CL final and scoring over 20 goals next season.

yeah,thats what everyone says over here.Back in the prime of Santos he wasnt in the center of it all,he shared the responsibility with Ganso,Elano,Danilo,Alex Sandro,good CFs.Now this Santos team has Neymar and a good DM/GK,and thats it.Santos finished midtable last season because they lost almost every game neymar didnt play due to national team duty

i feel like this is kind of the situation Bale is in atm (even though Tottenham have quite a lot of good players)

Yea but that period with those players was like what 2 years ago now? Moreover the period that those players were all together was not more than a season I'm sure, unless I'm mistaken.
