Re: AS Monaco superteam
Isn't the name Sporting Association Monaco Football Club more than a bit redudnant? They should be either ASM or MFC.
Also, teams are built from the back. They won't get very far with that quality of defenders.

I only wish old school celebs like in her prime Bridget Bardot or Prime Elizabeth Taylor were around so they could get the honorary kick off.
Hubba Hubba
Liz Taylor wasn't bad either
Oh my days :fap:

Yeah the naming is a bit weird.
Also they already pretty much have built their attack before the window has even opened lol. They'll have all summer to sign some defenders.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
usually it's abbreviated and spoken as ASM. extremely redundant actually, i was thinking about it earlier. oh well.
very much agree, make no mistakes Ismait Mirin is talented but still far behind the other kids of his generation. they pretty much need a new defensive line.
i know that at left back they have Digne, Abidal and Tremoulinas as targets. if they can get Nkoulou and maybe another CB it's good. and a right back. i am surprised they are not going for debuchy and cabaye tho

Look at this Granddad.
How in the world was a Monaco thread able to slowly turn into a thread old school babes?

Re: AS Monaco superteam
The only taxes you pay in Monaco are sales tax (TVA). No income tax or property tax on anything. No corporate tax either unless you derive 25% or more of your revenue in Monaco... and those people only get taxed at 33.3%.FalcaoPunch wrote:Why is his is pay going to be "tax free" ? Why do you think a lot of celebs live in Monaco?
By the way, how close are they to signing Hulk?

Re: AS Monaco superteam
Not all that close. Menez wants out of PSG and he's a cheaper option that Monaco wants... Ranieri already called Menez apparently. They're also looking at Di Maria of Madrid closely. If Di Maria goes to PSG, then they get Menez.
There's a big rumor that Coentrao is done for 18 mil + bonuses and that Khedira is being discussed. Also looking to make a run at Mbiwa of Newcastle.
The budget is apparently €200 mil for this summer and they have €70 mil left

I'd be quite happy if they got Coentrao and Khedira.
Not bad.

They don't have Europe next year... so it's really overkill But they want to win Ligue 1, so they need it for PSG.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
One thing I don't like about this. All the teams that have managed to make great progress with spending over-pay for that first big player....but Monaco seems to have went ahead and overpaid on three players off the beat.
I think ideally, they should have built a solid foundation around Falcao and Moutinhio - and maybe get players like Menez who are looking to leave. Then, next season, when somewhat established, go after guys like Rodriguez.
I mean the fact that they got Falcao due to exogenous circumstances gives them a huge boost compared to other projects...PSG had ended up signing Pastore initially, City got Robinhio, they easily come out better than both.
They are an attractive destination - they just need CL and then there's no need to pay 40 million for guys like Rodriguez right this minute.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
does it make that much difference if they got the James now, or next year? looks the same to me, no, even better actually. they will be adding complimentary players now on every line, this summer, next winter and next summer again. PSG was already a top team in the league went they got them, with arguably the second best player in the league in Nene. Monaco are coming from the second division, their task is much more complicated.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
All eyes are on them to make sure the don't flop. Expectations for them will be very high. Especially after this spending.
Maybe not winning Ligue 1. But a top 3 finish and securing a place in the CL will seemingly be their most important task.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
service to falcao will be a big factor in their league success. Ocampos and Menez arent exactly pass/cross first, dribble second, players either.
also is Carvalho even decent anymore these days? I liked the thought of Mangala much better than him.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
me too, i actually expect them to fall short on their objectives. their project is extremely superficial right now, would be surprised if they hit the ground running. they are mistaken if they think Falcao can score goals on his own and will carry them on his back
