We've all had our fun, now let's either turn this into a realistic discussion of the chances of Liverpool winning the title in the next few seasons or it will be locked, there's no point to a thread filled entirely with emoticons.

In any case yeah no. Since 2009-10 what has Liverpool done to make you think they'll win a title in 5 years?

They signed Coutinho, the chosen one.
I'm personally reluctant to make predictions beyond a single season given the fact that club fortunes can so dramatically change, however I personally don't consider Ferguson's retirement as having a significant bearing on Liverpool's chances. My opinion is obviously that their chances are slim, however they have a fairly young project at the moment. Continuity is the key, how they move to build on the work they've already done this summer will tell me more about their chances than the retirement of any coach, no matter how influential.

Don't forget we played half the season with just one forward. Now with Coutinho, Sturridge and some more quality player in summer, I doubt you will wager us finishing 7th again.

I don't expect you to finish 7th again...I expect you to prolly finish 6th as things stand (i.e assuming Bale doesn't leave)
But the point is that Fergie retiring doesn't have anything to do with that prediction tbh

They will have to show much improvement if they want to get anywhere near the EPL title. I doubt they are capable of it within the next two years. I think the earliest time they could win it is 5 years from now. Thats being generous.
