Re: lol
Why not, he adds depth to our squad. Muntari and Flamini are good players to have for depth in the mid.

Re: lol
Not deserved in the slightest bit. Scoring goals doesn't and should NOT convince anyone from the fact that he is a pathetic player. Not only he doesn't do his job, yet the minor role that he does have, he completely neglects in every aspect. His endless running to compensate for his complete lack of footballing IQ looks even more pathetic given that he has lost any of the legs he once had.
If I have to see one of his two-footed studs up torpedo's again, my heart will wilt inside.
Don't even get me started on Muntari. Who I hate more than anyone now.
This contract offer has got to be a joke.

Re: lol
Great news, it's about time he was given a two year extension.
There's no other way to sell him otherwise.
In all seriousness though, if only to make up the numbers, some players in the squad who we ideally not be competing for regular minutes must be retained and Flamini, whilst still a limited and frustrating player, has the confidence of the coach and has been a useful cog in the system. As long as it is understood by our management that we require two midfield purchases even now, I can live with Flamini sticking around to provide depth.

Re: lol
I have been surprised by Flamini the last couple of games, he looks more confident now. Too bad its so late in the season, and its hard to know if he can take this any further next season.
Another technical midfielder is so badly needed, we need to spend a little there.

Nocerino, Flamini and Muntari - the 3 on the inside, soon to become the 3 on the outside.

Whilst I realise that this has been covered in the transfer thread, I think we can all agree that this thread deserves to be bumped.

Sky Sport Italia claim Milan are further than ever from agreeing a new contract with Mathieu Flamini.
The former Arsenal midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of the month and today his agent visited Adriano Galliani at the club headquarters.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the meeting was a failure, as it showed there is a huge difference between offer and demand.
Flamini is thought to want €15m wages before taxes spread over a three-year contract, whereas Milan are proposing just €3.6m gross on a two-year deal.
It is increasingly unlikely that the Frenchman will be at San Siro next season.

Mathieu Flamini's agent has revealed that the midfielder is likely to leave Milan this summer.
The 29-year-old is currently without a club after his contract at San Siro expired earlier this week.
And despite the Rossoneri offering Flamini a new two-year deal, his representative has claimed that the France international is likely not to sign.
“In view of the contribution that Flamini has provided to the club, he would like longer than two years,” Alexandra Missirli told L'Equipe.

Mathieu Flamini has revealed he was 'disappointed' with Milan's contract offer and has admitted he will leave the club.
The midfielder echoed comments made earlier on Thursday by his agent, and has claimed that he 'deserved better' from the Rossoneri.
“I'm not going to accept the offer of only two years,” he told Corriere dello Sport. “At 29, after five season with the Rossoneri, and after the four important goals I scored last season, I deserved diffferent treatment.
“I am disappointed, and I'm going my own way.
“My future? Anything is possible.”
Flamini is currently unattached after his contract at San Siro expired earlier this week.

Mathieu Flamini has explained that he received a two-year contract offer from Milan, but is now hoping for a return to the Premier League.
The Frenchman is out of contract this summer and commented just last week on his discontent at the Rossoneri’s offer for renewal put forward.
Talking to the English media today, the 29-year-old indicated that a return to the Premier League may be on the cards.
“Milan offered me a contract for two years but I need to take my time and make the right decision,” explained Flamini to The Sun today.
“I’ve been in Italy for five years, I’ve had a great time and learnt a lot. But I miss England and I want to win the Premier League.
“It has a special place in my heart. I like the pace and the physicality of English football and I like that every game is very open.
“I want to win trophies. I am a competitor. My biggest regret was when I was with Arsenal and we lost the Champions League final against Barcelona.
“As well as the Premier League, I want to win the Champions League. When you are a competitor, what you want is to be successful. And to be successful, you want to win trophies.
“I’ve had some good offers but I want to take my time and decide what direction I will take.
“What’s important is to be in a team which has a good project, good ambitions and abilities.
“I miss the Premier League but other countries are possible, too. I don’t want to close any doors.”

Re: lol
I hope that 2yr contract he's talking about in the last excerpt is the one where we pay him €3.6m gross.

Re: lol
Others might interpret as him being a greedy dog, but that is far from the truth. He knows Milan cannot afford a player like him, who is at the peak of his ability, rather than drain our scarce financial resources he will save us from the financial burden of keeping a top player like him by moving to another club.
However people will inquire why he does not simply accept the contract Milan have offered him, its quite simple. No self respecting professional player would accept a lower salary after having become a better player.
