SES is too focused on scoring
Pazzini in a recent interview brought up an excellent point that I did not think of before. SES is too focused on getting on the score sheet right now, rather than just playing to his full potential we all saw at the beginning of the season. Now that we have Pazzini and Balotelli who are goal machines, SES does not have to consistently score to save us. This is a concept not familiar to young Stephan, when Milan was playing so poorly in the start of the season he put the team on his back. Now, the team is not on his shoulders anyone, but he is still FAAAAAR too focused on scoring. He needs to be calm and play the way he played in the start of the season; with so much flair and relentless runs into the box. Right now, he just wants to cut in and shoot. He should be making runs into the box, taking on defenders, linking with Balo or Pazzo, and occasionally cutting in to shoot. He is so focused on scoring he has become predictable.

I agree with you 100%. He needs to relax and play his game. He is still young and it is very normal though, so I don't blame him.

Re: SES is too focused on scoring
Last night he not in form as injury had overtaken his ability to be continuous in his play. Miscalculated move to play him given that his inflammation was bothering him pre-match.
His focus on scoring has taken away his finishing composure, yet his role has simply changed with the inclusion of Balotelli. It includes positional, deeper from the field which involves him tracking down central much earlier while Balotelli takes on his free reign wide or deep within the box. SES' creativity has soared as a result, MTD which is far better than now since we have Pazzo and Balo who can score. Scoring was never SES' role as the continuous goals, I said would put pressure on him to score despite that not being his role or strong suits.
Players like him and destined to be central as putting central type player out wide tends to make them a little predictable although he has improved on that.
His general play still impresses nonetheless.

Never said he wasn't great. The kid has loads of talent. I agree he has been doing well in the creativity department. You can see all over his face he want's to score so badly. Against Torino every touch was towards the middle to score. I know he had a knock, it's no excuse, he was on the field playing. We relied on him heavily in the beginning of the season to score goals, now we don't need it as much. He needs to adapt. That's what my point was.

I didn't doubt your opinion on him.
But I do disagree on one thing. He has in fact adapted, yet his priorities need to be straightened. From a general play perspective his play has actually improved since Balotelli came in, yet given that scoring is even less of his role now, he needs to stop using those channels to score given that even if he doesn't score for half a season, yet keeps up his general play, his spot is nowhere near in jeopardy since along with Monty, he is still our best player in that aspect.
I do hope he scores as I hate seeing the disappointment in his face when it doesn't. Still our player of the year though.

Exactly my point, he is FAAAAAR too focused on scoring. to the point it's ruining his play inside the box. If anyone didn't notice he kept getting stuffed every time he went into the box because he just wanted to cut and shoot. His play outside the box is brilliant.
