I know they are three very diferent left backs, but who would you have had in your team back in the late 1990s - early 2000s?

While Maldini was more defense-oriented, and Roberto Carlos was more of a left wing back and a beast going forward, I would personally choose Lizarazu because of his defensive and offensive skills. Plus I rate his time at Bayern Munchen very high, he was a very important player for them and for France NT in the early 2000s.

I'd take Maldini too.

Roberto Carlos is my favorite, but Maldini was a better player, much more complete.

Carlos was worse at defending than Marcelo ffs Laughing

Maldini was great

Lizarazu was amazing as well. Both better than Carlos

Yeah Carlos was known more for his attacking prowess than his defensive work. Lizarazu and Maldini were much better defenders

If you don't care about defense, Roberto Carlos. If your team plays balanced, Bixente Lizarazu. If your team is plays defensively, Paolo Maldini. That's my know it all opinion.
