It's funny when people mocked me when I said we were going to sign him. I said I didn't know much about him, just hear he is one of the highest youth prospects in the world. Now, we sign him. Oh the irony. Don't be surprised if we persue Quintero either.

From what I can tell, Vergara does not have an EU passport. Rather concerning that we are choosing to use a valuable non-EU spot on a second division defender if the reports are confirmed.

To look at the positives, the transfer is consistent with the youth policy the club is pursuing. Looking to make astute purchases of youngsters with high ceilings is the way forward; the issue is in identifying appropriate targets. I highly doubt any of us have had the time to watch Vergara and form a well informed opinion, whilst our management is yet to solidify a reputation concerning the scouting of youngsters such that we could trust their judgement.

Too early to pass comment, even if the transfer is confirmed, there is every chance that Vergara will not play with the first team next year, or even at Milan. If anyone has further information about his passport status, I'd appreciate confirmation.
