Anyone else surprised with the number of youngsters going on this year's pre-season tour?

When Benitez mentioned the "100m war chest" Mourinho would have, I didn't expect this to happen tbh

1. This is now only the baby preseason tour. Club seem to be putting more weight on the US one now where we'll play against actual opposition from Europe and not just Asian XI's or whatever that will just be rolled over 6-0 without even breaking a sweat.

2. Never took that Benitez comment seriously from the start. Just said it in passing, not as something he actually had/was given information on. The likelihood of the club spending big this summer given last year's spending as well as the current strength of the squad was always slim, and rightly so.

3. I'll believe it when I see it.

As I said during the 'post-season mini-tour', they play these games to raise the club's profile and expand global popularity, then only show broadcasts of them to people who live in the UK.
