Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
if you're referring to the internet rumours that Ajax and LFC have agreed a deal then Ajax have already officially rejected that talk. No deal has been agreed.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I don't understand why people so much underrate the need for a back-up LB & back-up DM! Not just the rumors, most of the expectations are awashed with AM, RW & CB. But those two back-ups are just as important.
I there was some rumors regarding a free signings from Malaga for the DM position, but unfortunately there's absolutely nothing for the LB position. BTW, do you know how Insua is doing!!!

Insua has only featured once for Atleti since joining them in Jan. He is well and truely stuck behind Filipe Luis.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
No one is underrating a player to come in and be a back-up for Lucas... a back-up LB not so much. It's not entirely needed. Enrique is solid. Robinson will be ready for game-time and GJ / Agger can play there if needed.

Rojas from Melbourne Victory is quoted to be saying that he will be playing for a European club and is looking forward towards it. He hasn't specified which club he will be playing for as of yet, but the Australian media are believed to think that Marco Rojas will play for Liverpool next season.
Replacement for Assaidi, perhaps?

As much as I'd like to see Rojas in the EPL, I don't want him to go to Liverpool. I doubt he'd play much.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Don't think he'll play too many games to be honest. He's no better than many in our reserves to be fair. (And that's coming from a Melbourne Victory supporter lol.)
He's a good player, but I feel he's way too lightweight to play in the BPL. Before people mention the likes of David Silva, Juan Mata etc, Rojas hardly has the technique and quality of those types of players lol. He reminds me of an older Sterling, sorta. Rojas hugely relies on his pace and attacks good positions but I still find Sterling as the better player.
Have a feeling he'll go to a team in the Bundesliga, but the media down here think he'll play in Merseyside (in red) next season.

I'd rather see him go to the Eredivise or the BL as oppose to the EPL. Atleast until he proves he is quality enough.

Is that somehow a surprise? Prior to his injury Filipe Luis was on his way to being one of the top LBs in the world and he's begun to find that form again this season.

Wisdom, a young CB, was prefered over Robinson and that too for considerable number of games. If your squad is so thin that a RB or a CB has to play LB, you can't expect to compete CL qualification.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Along with the QPR fire sale it also seems likely that Scott Sinclair will be available on the cheap following his season at Man City and Mancini's recent comments. Depending on the price asked he could be a decent replacement for Assaidi in the squad.

More fodder for the supporters that believe Rodgers only pursues targets he's worked with before.RedOranje wrote:Along with the QPR fire sale it also seems likely that Scott Sinclair will be available on the cheap following his season at Man City and Mancini's recent comments. I actually think Sinclair would be a nice depth signing. Could be a nice alternative to Coutinho on the left, or as an option if Coutinho is played centrally.
I think a starting right-winger would be prioritized over Sinclair, though.
Seen agent talk (*Big Friggin' Red Flag there...) that we've tabled a big for Lucas Biglia. IMO he'd be a decent alternative to Lucas. From what I understand (don't have a lot of opportunities to watch Anderlecht) he's a passing DM that reads the game well, even if he's not the most physically imposing midfielder.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
I don't know why Sinclair would fancy being a depth signing for any club, he is already that for City and probably making as much money as a squad player can. Also what puts me off is that he's spent a season not really playing at all.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
We've been linked with a move for Lucas Biglia for probably 3 or 4 straight seasons now, to be honest. Nothing's ever come of it.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2013
Certainly believe he'd see a fair bit more time on the pitch with us than with City, and would have a better chance of staking a place i n the starting XI as well.Art Morte wrote:I don't know why Sinclair would fancy being a depth signing for any club, he is already that for City and probably making as much money as a squad player can. He's not leaving a club that's reached the CL final and won their league last season for us, mate. It's a bit of a moot point.iftikhar wrote:How would Reus be for RW/WF!!!

Reus is just as impossible as Messi and Ronaldo at this point.
We need to look at less known German talents in the Bundesliga.
Patrick Hermann He's definitely going to be the next big thing as well. Should snatch him up as fast as we can but knowing us, our scouting team probably doesn't even know who he is.

As an interested Barca fan, may I ask how much Suarez would most likely go for if Barcelona were to inquire?

More than £40m... probably more than £50m if he's as happy to stay at the club and see out his ban as recent reports suggest.CBarca wrote:As an interested Barca fan, may I ask how much Suarez would most likely go for if Barcelona were to inquire?
He's both better and more important to the club than Torres was when he left. He's also happier at the club than Torres was and unlikely to attempt to force a move as Torres did (yes, despite Sepi's wild accusations I do believe the reports that Torres forced his way out). The club will want to ensure that he can be properly replaced which, given our league position, means big money to attract the proper level of talent.

Thanks Red.
Damn it.
He would be absolutely perfect at Barca. Why didn't we get him when he was at Ajax

Reports in Spain have suggested that the Catalan giants are confident of securing a 10million euros (£8.4million) swoop for the Spanish shot-stopper on a two-year deal.
Barcelona are understood to want Reina, who is under contract at Anfield until 2016, to replace Victor Valdes this summer.
However, Reds officials insist there has been no contact between the clubs. Boss Brendan Rodgers recently insisted that the 30-year-old was not for sale and would continue as his No 1 next season.
Reina began his career at Barcelona before moving to Villarreal. Since signing for Liverpool in a £6million deal in 2005 he has made 392 appearances.
