Long live Raylan

Really, perfect series finale.

Haven't finished it yet, but I have to say I'm gonna miss this show so much. Will be in my top 5 fav forever.

I teared up in that last Raylan-Boyd scene in the prison. "We dug coal together" goddam

That was great!!! A perfect ending to a great series.

I'm also loving GL's positive reaction to it.

Yeah. It wasn't the showdown like we expected. Or some of us wanted for some time. But it really was the perfect way to end it. Not on a whole happy ending note, but not all bad either. Just realistic and perfect. The on screen chemistry between Olyphant and Goggins is one of the best (if not the best) that I have seen on screen, and to end it in that way was great. You could always feel the GOATNESS whenever they engaged in a dialogue or were in the same room together.
Boyd back to his preaching which I think was a nice touch from the producers, because one of the best highlights of this series has come from Boyd preach scenes

It wasn't all happy days though. And that's where the realistic front comes in which I spoke about. Raylan continued his love and calling for police work and never retired, but didn't end up back with Winona, and even has another guy to deal with now - the always dreaded stepfather to your child(ren) But anyway, Winona looks okay.
Ava got off, but she isn't living the life of adrenalin pumping Harlan anymore and not with a big bag of money. But she has a son and all seems okay.
Art and everyone at the office seemed okay.
Raylan looks content and okay.

I guess that's all you need in life at the end of the day. Content and okay.

Will miss Raylan and Boyd and this show so much

did anyone else get worried for a second that Raylan would be killed off after the duel with Boone after they saw the hole in his hat? I honestly got worried because I was definitely expecting one of Raylan, Boyd, or Ava to get killed in the finale and when Raylan didn't shoot Boyd, every bone in body was telling me Raylan was gonna be the one to die.

They should do an alternate ending with Raylan actually dying in that dual with Boone. His character is based on the archetype Wild Western heroes and many of them went out like that. Would be a good end to a true modern warrrior. It would've been very interesting to see how his death impacted those around him just as him surviving did.

All-in-all a great finale nonetheless. Man I've loved this show from the very first episode. Gonna miss it to pieces.

Thought both of Boon and Raylan were going to die there for a second. Even at the park with his daughter I thought Boyd would possibly turn up and we get a standoff or Raylan gets killed. Even when Raylan went to see Ava in California I thought Boyd would pop out of the bushes and waste them SO yeah, always thought one of Raylan or Boyd was going to go in the finale.

Gotta love Boon though. What a legend.
Boon: “Seems like maybe yous was gon' leave without saying goodbye.” and that look on his face when he said that

Justified had a lot of minor antagonists in every season but I feel like Boon was the best, props to the actor for nailing it, genuinely felt threatening and menacing in every scene he was in, whereas other minor villains were just fodder over the seasons.

Yeah Boone was a special villain in this series.

Justified has had some great minor bad guys who were all interesting characters, Yolo, Choo Choo, Colton Rhodes, The Icepick killer Fletcher Nix, etc.

The main antagonists guys were all goat worthy as well.

Started watching yesterday and I have to ask... Is there an actual continuous story in the show or does it go episode by episode? I never liked the latter kind.

first season feels very much episodic for the most part and it's easily the weakest due to it

after that it's more a continuous story but there are the occasional episodes with raylan tackling seemingly random cases that more often than not end up being linked to the overall plot or feature again in a later episode

first season was definitely the creators/writers trying to find an identity for the show while establishing the main characters and setting

Yeah, well I'm almost halfway through the first season and struggling to decide whether to download season 2.

But if you say that it gets better, I may go with it still.

You should definitely go with season 2.

You won't be disappointed.

Season 2,3, and 4 are GOAT. Final season (s6) is also GOAT and there's a GOAT ending to the series.

Season 5 is really weak though. It's the worst season of the lot.

I'm not a fan of episodic shows either, and season 1 starts out like that but around 10-11 episodes in once the show is established all the goatness starts.

Yes, I'm up to E11 and the improvement is already obvious. For the first 5 or so I wasn't sure if I was watching Nash Bridges or something...

FFS, I'm not a crying person but I almost shed a tear for Mikey in that RV Didn't care for him at all till that point.

Raylan is a stupid piece of cowboy dung and his romance with Boyd was vomit inducing. But I would eat that vomit then vomit the eaten vomit and then eat the vomited vomit.
