Re: The official loan thread.
Borini helps sunderland beat Newcastle 2-1 with a goal after being subbed on, great news for the lad, even better that it was Sunderlands first win against their rivals.

I just hope now he goes on to become a starter for them. You just need to feed him few times around the box, he will score few.

Re: The official loan thread.
I don't expect him to become a regular starter just yet, I didn't watch the game but from what I read Fletcher had a good game, scored, too and Sunderland have paid some good money for both him and Altidore and they are their own players, so they're probably more keen to play them if they're on the same line with Borini. However, his derby-winning goal should ensure he'll get at least sub appearances in the near future, hopefully even a start or two.HEIL MEIN REDS wrote:I just hope now he goes on to become a starter for them. Very happy for Borini. He's scored 2 goals in English football so far, both against Newcastle

Re: The official loan thread.
Good we will need him in the futureAfter the draw wrote:Steve McClaren hopes Andre Wisdom’s debut display is a sign of things to come from the England Under 21 international defender.
The 20-year-old joined Derby County on a youth loan deal from Premier League Liverpool until the end of the 2013/14 season last week.
Wisdom went straight into McClaren’s line-up at right-back in place of Adam Smith for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Birmingham City and he produced an impressive first performance in a Rams shirt.
He went on to collect Derby’s Man of the Match Award for his efforts and Head Coach McClaren was pleased with what he saw from his latest signing.
He said: “I thought Andre was immense for his first game.
“We knew that with Nicola Zigic in the Birmingham side they would have a physical presence in attack, which is why Andre came into the side ahead of Adam Smith.
“He slotted in with no fuss and he looks like he will be a very good player for us.
“Andre can play in a few positions and he’s someone we’ve been aware of from the minute we arrived, so he certainly adds something extra to the defensive unit.”
McClaren has also been impressed with Wisdom’s leadership qualities.
The Liverpool Academy product has captained England’s Under 21 side and McClaren has already seen those qualities in just a few days working with the youngster, both on the pitch and on the training ground.
He added: “He’s a leader as well as a good player and I spoke to a few people last week who said Andre was that type of player and person.
“He’s got a good pedigree and he wants to be a leader, which is a great attitude to have.
“Coming here is going to be a big test for him but he’s started well and we hope it continues.”

Re: The official loan thread.
we need to stop loaning players.
cissokho, moses, sahin, ffs.
i'd rather play our youths, at least they'd show some passion for the club. moses has already publicly stated he's only here for first team football. he's NOTHING like the player we need. he's far far too selfish. hopefully we cancel both cissokho's and moses' loans in january.

Re: The official loan thread.
We are being too harsh on Moses, Cissokho, too. They deserve more time. Moses has had some decent performances, too, and he is a good player on his day. It's another matter whether he is that focused on us, though, I agree. No matter how good he plays for us, that won't get him into Chelsea's XI next season, and he knows it. Like, that flick of his against Hull where we lost possession and they scored their first goal, that's just too careless to try in your own defending third and, to me, that kinda reflects the potential problem with some loanees' commitment.

Assaidi
I'm not sure should we be a bit disappointed he's not at Liverpool, would be a decent option to have for the LW position, most of our wingers are naturally right-sided. Anyway, great that his goal sunk Chelsea!

Since we've operated with wingers so often this season it's definitely a concern...

Re: The official loan thread.
Not sure about how much time he got but for the assist in last game against chelsea, he beautifully controlled a difficult ball in the box under pressure and laid it off for Ki, althouh Ki had to do much more work for the Goal.

Re: The official loan thread.
Sunderland striker Fabio Borini was taken to hospital during the Premier League match at Cardiff but he is not seriously ill.
Borini had complained of feeling unwell before the match but played in the first half.
At half time it became clear to Sunderland's medical staff he could not carry on and the Italian was taken to hospital on a drip.
He was examined by medical staff who concluded he had contracted a virus, and he was discharged. He will however not return to Sunderland with the rest of the squad and will remain in Cardiff on Saturday.
"He is feeling better," Sunderland boss Gus Poyet said.
"He was a little bit sick before the game, not even this afternoon, but he wanted to play.
"Sometimes you have decisions to make between a manager and a player and we looked at each other and he said he wanted to play.
"He did well, he had a couple of opportunities, but at half-time he looked down and weak. We changed him, we did not give him a choice, then the doctor checked him twice and decided to have an extra check in hospital.
"We have more information, the doctor called me. He is not going to fly back with us, he will stay down here overnight, but he has been released from hospital. Luckily it is nothing serious.
"We were really, really worried as he was really, really sick so the doctor decided rightly to take him to hospital but he has been released now. It was a virus or sickness, so no problems."

Re: The official loan thread.
Yeah, Assaidi has been doing a good job for Stoke on that left-hand side. Makes a bit baffling why he got so few chances to play for us & if he keeps this up we should seriously consider having him in the squad for next season.

Brilliant, if he goes on to become a squad player, his directness to go and have a shot can be a great help for us. I am not sure if BR will be ever serious about him
He's proving a lot of us wrong since that performance against Cardiff.
he can go on the inside and outside and has an eye for goal, he's got a touch of class about him whenever he is in a shooting position.
the rate at which he is learning and improving is the most promising aspect though, and he was tracking back well all day long today.
I hope we get him on a permanent deal asap, well worth 3-4 million, still young and will give us a fair few very good seasons at this level.
"Season long loan with no option to buy"
And according to my mate who plays for the Liverpool academy Assaidi spends all his spare time there and watching the second team play.
It'd be nice if we could change his mind though
