Re: North Korea
Not very related to NK, but here's a video talking about the implications of a nuclear war:
That's actually pretty terrifying.

Propaganda? I honestly don't know what to say about that. My post is not propaganda. It's a fact that we have hundreds of bases across the globe. It's also a fact that we should have not went to Korea just to stop communism. Before the Korean War, elections were supposed to be held across the whole of Korea. Instead, we decided to cancel them because we were afraid the people would vote for a Communist government. None of this would have been happening had those elections went through.
South Korea's per capita GDP is 36th in the world.
North Korea's per capita GDP is 184th in the world.
Vietnam's per capita GDP is 151st in the world.
Clearly our worries about authoritarian communist regimes were misguided.

Just get in there with tanks, huge and vast numbers of tanks. Also, infantry. I suggest digging some trenches.

Re: North Korea
What is it with right wing "leaders" and their constant need to sabre rattle?
Chavez was on the same shit all year round (may he burn in peace).
This is all for propaganda purposes, to brainwash the poor people of NK into believing they have an actual chance against the Evil Empire, or at least to unite them hate-wise.
These people have no clue what type of military power they are up against, but as long as you believe...

Completely irrelevant. Your overlooking the point that the people of Korea wanted a communist government. Clearly I don't support communism and its obvious the system is terrible but if thats what the majority of Koreans favored, then we should have Let them have their own government. very ironic that a country that is founded on freedom and the people, chooses to support the wrong people. We should have never went to defend a French colony in the first place.

Re: North Korea
Read a fascinating article that suggests that his aunt (his uncle's wife) played a role in deciding on his execution. It's possible that his wife (ruthless in her own right) had a hand in that decision as well.
His wife actually got caught up in a scandal with the music troupe that she was part of when she met KJU. Apparently one of the dancers remarked that his wife had done porn just like most of them had. KJU responded by having them all rounded up and summarily executed by firing squad to protect his wife from the scandal that unfolded. It's said that one of the dancers was actually his ex-girlfriend.
Plenty of sites picked up that story, but I'm not at all sure why it didn't get more attention. Shows that there's indeed a formidable power behind the throne there. I personally think KJU is his own man and is not above wiping out his wife and/or aunt if they cross him.

Re: North Korea
They shot a missile over Okinawa like 2 or so weeks ago. Hopefully he doesn't try any of that garbage when I am in the home city next month. I think, as a leader, Kim Jong Un seems to be more about business than his father was. He has youth on his side. I feel if he was able to change the tide, without upsetting the military, he would move them in a generally more positive direction. He's already been able to bring in American athletes to begin an exchange.
If I were not an ethnic yamato I would love to visit PyongYang though. Seems like a fascinating place to see in person.
I am in amazement of how clean the streets are. Dictatorship or not to have the capital looking like that is a pretty impressive thing to see. The weird thing is I couldnt really see any trashcans. Even in tokyo, where people will carry their trash with them all day to save until they get home, you can see trashcans.

North Korea bans sarcasm because Kim Jong-un fears people only agree with him ‘ironically’
