North Korea
North Korean army says it has "ratified" nuclear strike against U.S
North Korea said it had "ratified" a merciless attack against the United States, potentially involving a "diversified nuclear strike".
"We formally inform the White House and Pentagon that the ever-escalating U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK (North Korea) and its reckless nuclear threat will be smashed by the strong will of all the united service personnel and people and cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means of the DPRK and that the merciless operation of its revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified," a spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People's Army said in a statement carried by the English language service of the state news agency KCNA.

You know how when in school a smaller kid tried to beat you, and you just held their head in one hand, and they were flailing their arms around helplessly?
That small kid is North Korea.

Re: North Korea
I'm still trying to understand how North Korea thinks that they're going to get a missile to America without America realising. This isn't 1941 and they are not Japan.
Secondly, China might be, just might be stupid enough to get their hands dirty, but Russia isn't, also A LOT of countries will back America if this happens. Israel, NATO, Pakistan and probably even us(I mean India), if it came down to it.
Thirdly, for whatever America is and as much as I don't like them, in comparison to North Korea they are ALL that is right with the world.
Finally, the last thing the world needs is a Nuclear war.

North Korea football team have a better chance of winning a World Cup than the North Korean army does at successfully leading their country through a World War ffs.

Re: North Korea
Even if North Korea launched a missile, it would be immediately shot down by the US' missile defense system.
The only problem that may arise from this situation is the possible involvement of China, but that's unlikely in my opinion.

Re: North Korea
Do you guys think something will follow from all this?
North Korea have taken this latest acting-tough err.. act of theirs so far that they would look really stupid (even more so than they already do) if they don't end up doing anything but quietly let things get back to "normal" after a while. Their shelling of that island a few years back (whick killed four S-Koreans if I remember right) and their sinking of that S-Korean ship also a few years ago are still fresh in mind, so I'm just wondering will there be a similar incident and if yes, will South retaliate this time.

Re: North Korea
Nah, nothing is gonna change. NK is too militarized, so neither the US nor SK will risk a ground war, and if NK actually launches a nuke, that shoddy thing will be taken out by missile defense systems instantly, and following after that will be the biggest air raid and bombing run since WWII ended.
'Murica would flatten that country so hard they'll wish they were 1945s Dresden. And I'm pretty sure even Cartman Jong Un knows that, so I very much doubt either side will allow an actual military escalation.
But what hte hell, I might be wrong, and you can never have enough massive scale ground wars. Europe has been lacking one of those for 70 years now, and it's made us complacent, bored, and decadent.

Thanks man. Who knows what will happen with our shitty expansionist policy getting involved in every damn country in the world.
Re: North Korea
And China is trying to stop North Korea from getting involved anyways so if they went to war then China would either remain neutral or go to war on our side.

Why would North Korea want to attack us in the first place? This whole crap stemmed from a stupid involvement in the Korean war that should have not happened. Look at Vietnam and compare it to Korea today. While Vietnam is fully united as a communist country, they are not hostile to the US. But Korea is split because of our "defense of democracy" bullshit.
In fact why is America hated around the globe? Maybe we shouldn't be involved in basically every country on the earth.
My overall point is that being involved everywhere is going to spawn hatred and future attacks against us like we are seeing now.
Re: North Korea
Yes, I get that you're parroting random propaganda that you've heard before, but I'm confused as to A) why you felt the need to bring it up here (given that this current "crisis" is purely a North Korean fabrication based on UN SANCTIONS) and B) why you feel the need to post the random propaganda to begin with. Surely you can leave it to the blogs and the youtube videos?

Propaganda? I honestly don't know what to say about that. My post is not propaganda. It's a fact that we have hundreds of bases across the globe. It's also a fact that we should have not went to Korea just to stop communism. Before the Korean War, elections were supposed to be held across the whole of Korea. Instead, we decided to cancel them because we were afraid the people would vote for a Communist government. None of this would have been happening had those elections went through.
And yes it is relevant. Mentioning the causes behind this whole crap from the very beginning makes sense.
Re: North Korea
Not very related to NK, but here's a video talking about the implications of a nuclear war:
That's actually pretty terrifying.
