Worst refereeing performance?
So whats the worst game by a ref you have seen. The biggest robbery.
A top 5 i can name on top of my head:
1. Ovrebo, Chelsea-Barcelona 2009.
2. Moreno, South Korea-Italy 2002.
3. Graham Poll, Croatia-Australia 2006.
4. Mark Clattenburg, Chelsea-United 2012.
5. Wolfgang Stark, Real-Barcelona 2011.
HM: Whoever was in charge of the South Korea-Spain game, 2002.

Gamal Al-Ghandour. And he was obviously bribed.AltoZ wrote:HM: Whoever was in charge of the South Korea-Spain game, 2002.
Overbo was another disgraceful refereeing performance.
Stark? He shouldn't be on this list.
Re: Worst refereeing performance?
Ovrebo will forever be remembered as the worst ever.

What? O_o
Anyway, the one who was the referee in the Inter vs Chelsea game should be there. IIRC, Chelsea was robbed of 4 stonewall penalties, not 50-50 like in the Chelsea - Barca...

Yeah, but not just against chelsea...
Edit: no, actually I think that the spain vs south korea referee was even worse. He disallowed like 2-3 legal spanish goals..

Re: Worst refereeing performance?
The refs that waved Spain through against Chile and Paraguay at the 2010 WC were pretty pathetic, just like the one that robbed the US of like 3 goals against Slovenia and someone else I forgot, also in South Africa.
All in all, that WC had tremendously shit refereeing, like De Jong not being sent off for attempting to murder Xabi, or Iniesta staying on after slapping MvB right in the face in front of the linesman.
Honestly, I remember lots of shit calls, but I always forget which ref it was. Not giving the Lamps goal against Germany in Bloemfontain was horrible as well, but I can live with that one
Dortmund also got the ref-shaft a lot in EL and UCL the past two seasons. TBH I tend to forget shit refs if they screw over both teams equally, which is BS, because they still screwed up, they just got lucky.

Dude, I am a Chilean but how did the referee rob us and Paraguay? Torres acted like hell to get, don't remember who got sent off, one of our player sent off but IIRC he should have been sent off earlier.
And Paraguay got a goal disallowed, but IIRC one of their forwards was offside and he tried to head the ball meaning that he was interfering with the play, eventhough he didnt touch the ball. And also, shouldn't Fabregas have had a penalty when he tried to get the rebound of Alonso's penalty miss?
So if anything against Spain should have been the team that felt hard done by the referee against Paraguay..

Re: Worst refereeing performance?
Moreno doesn't count because he was being a prick on purpose. The list should be reserved for refs who are inept due to poor officiating skills.

At least not in the next few weeks after the WC, because I was waiting for an explanation. Hands down the weirdest call at the WC.

I think maybe because it was played across the goal a bit it may have not looked offside at the time.

But it was all fine the following year with Terje Hauge/Del Horno/Messi on that horrible pitch.

Of course it wasn't fine that Del Horno almost broke Messi's leg with this tackle..
And Messi got this bruises thanks to that thugish tackle..
It was a disgrace that Barca didn't even get a freekick nor did Del Horno get a yellow card.
Edit: speaking of that match, shouldn't Barca have had 2 penalties in that game? one for a blatant handball by, I think, Terry. With not getting even a yellow card with a red worthy tackle + 2 penalties not given to Barca, we can add this game for that list of bad refereeing.
