Samsung Galaxy S4?

anybody looking forward to SGS4?

it will probably be the same look wise, there will be minor upgrades to quad core and 1080p screen. There might be a face/eyes recognition, it will many be a bigger software upgrade rather then hardware

Yeah don't expect anything drastic. Maybe some upgrades here and there, but nothing spectacular.

it's basically a S3s.... just gimmicky softwares. still a beast phone but nothing much then the hardware upgrades

Well it was the upgrade for my old phone, so what do you think

I'll just buy the new Alcatel that costs £1. It fits my budget.

S4 is octa only in some places in europe where there is no LTE, as that chip has no LTE.... plus it doesn't use all 8 cores, it uses 4 A15 when running bigger things and A7 when on standby and smaller things. In places where there is LTE like US it will be an Snapdragon S4

and the number of pixel on camera don't matter, because in the end the you are never gonna view them in 13mp unless you print it out on a big piece of paper.... Pictures are always compress when used online, 4mp is good if you only take to put on fb, twitter or instagram.

and the eye control is a gimmicky feature, you will use it for a few days but then you will forget about it or turn it off

They are just spec cramming. And those that look at that phones will just be like "omg 8 cores!?!?!"
Performance > Specs

Screen seems way too big but I'm sure the display will be gorgeous.
Like legend said the eye control seems cool to play with it. Maybe it's a concept to grow on but at the moment I doubt it's any sort of game changer atm

the phone is around the same size as GS3, they just made the screen bigger by making the bezel smaller.

the 8 core idea is good because it's makes the phone 70% more efficient in battery use according to Sammy, but it currently doesn't have LTE built into it.

btw not saying the eye control is bad, it a nice idea but i think the health app they added is more important, as fitness watches/bands are becoming popular these days

Well I didn't say the eye control is bad either it's a step towards something that has the potential to be very useful in regards to getting closer to truly hands free.

It's a slight increase from 4.8" to 5". Still way to big of a phone and don't get me started on the Note. People holding those up to their ear should be slapped.

What's boggling is that Samsung is releasing so many phones to the point where their own fans are just calling it a "GS3s" in reference to Apple's iPhone 3GS, 4s, and rumored 5s.

both S3 and S4 are 5.38' but S3 has a 4.8' screen and S4 has 5' screen, plus S4 is lighter and thinner

Iphone 5 is 4.87' in size but only has a 4' screen....

personally i love the htc one but sammy is better in multitasking and functionality and stay awake screen and eye scrolling is really useful, even though the display and design are far better in htc one, they need a creative user interface, htc sense is very poor, no special features. they need some innovation in their phones, lg makes quad cores with 2 gb ram but nobody buys them, no creative thinking. Htc just needs some changing in its software.

Personally i don't find the features on sammy any useful, i think they majority of them are gimmicky, some are good but they will be added to Stock Android in time.... HTC Sense is closet thing to stock Android that i seen.

Samsung is trying to make it's own ecosystem from Android like Amazon did, and i think over time it will be too fragmentated from the rest of the Android system.

they basically use the phones from micro max (which is avaliable in South Asia) which are basically phone made by Chinese companies.... and their phones are popular in Latin America but according to people they are really poor...


Plus Google sells their phones at the same price on their play store

Just copped a Galaxy S4.

I was undecided between the S4 and HTC One, but since Verizon's not getting the One for months(release date is MIA), that kind of made the choice for me.

I had a Galaxy Nexus before this. Much different phone. Feels much more solid(even though it's lighter), battery life is wayy better even with the upgraded power/screen. The screen is amazing.

Agree that some of the features are gimmicky, I'm already bored with the no touch scroll. It's cool for a little and to show off, but finger scrolling is still easier.

Also Verizon/Samsung loads this phone with so much bloatware, SMH. You can't even remove it without a root either, I can only disable the apps so they don't show up in the app launcher. Oh well another reason to root.
