i pray every night that man city buy gareth barry . everyone is saying that they will become a better team without bale, believe me, they wont, every team that is as reliant on a player as spurs are on bale becomes worse when that player leaves, e.g man u and ronaldo, arsenal and rvp, ibra and milan, even liverpool and torres to an extent. the only team that doesnt follow this rule has been atletico madrid and aguero and thats because they have falcao .

btw, everyone talks about buying a world class striker but in my opinion outside of barca only ibra, rvp, falcao, aguero, rooney, the guy at napoli, suarez, and benezema are world class . most of these guys are already at big clubs earning big money so its highly unlikely that there will be any transfers involving them and in any case on man u, city, psg, real, barca can realistically afford the wages of any of the strikers were they to move.

Rooney less than a minute away from a league title with no RVP last year
Won the title the year before that (CL final as well)

Nah he wasn't.

It was mainly the noobs who thought Walcott was better were the ones who usually said it.

Bale is a better player, Modric I think was more important to the Spurs teams he was with.

Only reason we haven't been dire without Modric is because Dembele has been a fantastic replacement and Sandro was a revelation this season. With Brave Scotty Parker in now though our midfield is starting to suffer a bit more.

Although it might be unfair to say that as we haven't struggled without Modric, I'm just guessing we would, since we've struggled without Dembele and he's been almost a like for like replacement in a way.

I think Bale is the better and more talented player though.

Despite his going to Madrid I'm still a big supporter of Modric and I'm probably one of the biggest (now gone into closet since he's gone to Madrid) Modric fans and to me it's clear Bale is more talented. What he's doing right now especially at his age, it's something special. He's raised his level and he looks better with every game.

There are few players out there right now who are so capable of taking a game by the scruff of its neck and being a match winner.

Yeah he is becoming an excellent match winner with his crucial contributions, without him I think we would be above Tottenham now, and that's why I think he is a better player than modric. Still think modric is more talented though. I saw a croatia game this year and he was absolutely amazing tbh, but he's just not doing it as much at Madrid. It is possible that might happen to bale if he goes to madrid, he is still relatively unproven at that level

Funny I just watched a replay of the West Ham v Tottenham game.. Bale had a hell of a game, don't know much about him though since I don't watch Tottenham in the BPL much Very Happy

I would take him at Madrid from what I've seen

Edit: I didn't type 'BPL', it was autocorrected by the forum.. I'm sure you guys can guess what I typed :coffee:

Hope we do whatever it takes to get him in the summer. Our Giggs replacement.

He's having an outstanding season, and is evolving into one of the better players in the world but that isn't true.

RvP and Suarez have been better imo.

Put Rooney in RVPs position and United would be in a similiar position lol.

RvP has been good but Rooney has really unselfishly been the puppet behind United's success this season.

Completely agree.

Considering Bale turns up in big games and consistently contributes and doesn't shrivel away like a flower during winter like Modric does when the pressure is on i would have thought that would be quite easy for Spurs fans.

Interested to know how highly people rate his shot and how it compares with Cristiano. Who has the better shot? Feel free to throw different types into the discussion (freekicks, long-range, short-range drive, placed shot). Who is better?

Right now, Bale's technique is unbelievably hard to beat...

I am going with Bale right now, im surprised because I never believed I would say that.

Cristiano is better with his weak foot...but right now, Bale's confidence is so high and combined with that technique..

Also, he isnt always trying to smash the leather off the ball every time, alot of controlled power in his shots.

Cristiano shoots 11 times a game...its not very impressive to shoot that much to score not even that many from distance.

You guys really think CR7's long shots are accurate and consistent???? To me, he's more of a "if i shoot enough times as hard as i can, odds are one will go in" lol. One thing is consistent though... i often laugh at CR7's shot selection.

I rate Bale's shot higher because he's not completely unconscious with his shot selection and it's just as hard as CR7's.
