I agree with you. It wasn't the best substitution but Jose's choice was based on pecking order. I guess he had trust in Ozil to drift wide and try to create something. By then Rooney was already playing RB so not much was going to change imo even if Di Maria had stayed on.
Jose was probably happy with the 1-1. For him not losing the first game was paramount.

Re: Official: Di Maria > RVP, Rooney, CR7, Oezil, Valencia
di maria is the opposite of width imo, he gets drawn into the middle far too easily.
as for his performance:
postives:
had a couple of good chances in the first, had a brilliant assist very reminiscent of his assist to ronaldo in the CDR final against barca in extra time.
negatives:
same negatives as always- gave the ball away too easily, dribbled into defenders with his head down. nearly gifted united at least one goal by clearing the ball into the middle where united easily picked it up and almost scored (what was he thinking).
motm for madrid? far from imo. ozil, ronaldo, diego lopez all had more positive influence on the match as a whole.

all depends on whether you believe ManU can hold Madrid below two goals again..
If you don't think they can, then it was a good result for Madrid

Re: Official: Di Maria > RVP, Rooney, CR7, Oezil, Valencia
ehhhh.... very biased Argentine fan.
Di Maria was very wasteful in his passing, as usual, and was at fault for our goal. He was aright. 4th or 5th best Madrid player

Di Maria had an excellent game. He wasn't wasteful as much as he usually is.
I do blame him for that poor clearance that led to the goal line clearance from Alonso.
And again I see people saying Ozil was beasting... Why?

Sure, excellent by his abysmally low standards. Looked like he had the brain of a 13 year old rather than a 9 year old, good for him. That said, I can agree with mole that Di Maria subbing off was a really dumb move, he was easily the most troubling player at that moment.
Ozil was very influential in the first half, probably our best player. But as always, his legs gave out in 65th minute. Should have taken him off, not Alonso.
