Liverpool v West Bromwich
When's the previous time we've played on a Monday night? Feels weird to think that the weekend's footy is over yet looking forward to our Monday night match against West Brom.
I've got no update on Sturridge's situation, hopefully he is OK to play. Expecting Coutinho to be on the bench and perhaps get subbed on.
Having lost 3 - 0 to the Baggies on the opening day of the season and them being just two points behind us in the table, this really is a must win. They are in awful form, too, with 5 defeats and a draw from their last 6 games.
On a side note: We have currently conceded the least goals in the league at home (10, City have conceded 11), so keeping that stat on our side would be neat.

So time to place every penny on our 3 - 0 win

I can feel an upset here. An early goal is crucial.

No way in hell WBA are doing the double over us. I can see them possibly pulling a point but beating us again is a tough call.
Since they got a big man up top I think having a third CB to pick up the scraps is a good idea. Have Glen and Enrique play as wing backs and maraud forward at every opportunity providing most of the width. When we have the ball, play a high line with Lucas dropping next to Carra, with Agger and Skrtel taking care of the sides. When in possession, I think Hendo and Gerrard can do the job with Lucas sitting next to Carra.
I personally think that's the best call for this game to avoid the usual rape by the strong center forward.
Empty Goal
Skrtel - Carragher - Agger
Johnson - Gerrard - Lucas - Hendo - Enrique
Suarez - Sturridge

I thought Daniel came off injured against Manc City. Wouldn't that mean Borini would get ahead of Sturridge in the picking order, no?
Also, this has the Aston Villa game all over again.
Had a little win-streak going on. Everyone was happy and confident. We failed to take our chances early and were hit on the counter only for Villa to score a goal. We then search desperately for the second and bang, concede after another counter.

I kinda like your line-up there, wouldn't oppose to seeing it. Harsh on Reina, though

The latest I've heard on Sturridge is that he will be assessed before the game. And hopefully lightning won't struck twice on the same spot (referring to this being the Villa game mark two).

I think Borini may be "saved" for the Europa matches so that he can play the full 90 in both of those. We'll see though.

I won't take Sep's word until the official squad is released for the match but it's already disheartening to hear that.

Team: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Shelvey, Downing, Suarez. (Source: Rawk)
They seem quite confident that this is the team, so we can roll with it.
I'm guessing it's
--------------Reina
Johnson - Carra - Agger - Enrique
---------Gerrard - Lucas
---------------------------Hendo
Downing -----Shelvey
--------------Suarez

I guess my line up is probably correct. I'm hoping we see both Borini and Coutinho come on at some stage.

Re: Liverpool v West Bromwich
Quite a disappointing line-up. Downing starts again just to give his "admirable" track backs to assist Johnson yet will have another gutless and anonymous performance. Shelvey starting makes it even worse.

Well as long as Shelvey isn't deployed on the flank, I'll be happy.

It can only be the flank though as he has done that for us beforehand. Assuming we play the lose 4-3-3 of ours then his place only can be on the left with Ger-Luc-Hen playing in the 3.

it's a very decent line-up, I think Shelvey defo deserves a chance, it's been a while. Watch him have a cracker of a game

I don't think there's a manager in the world who'd put Jonjo out wide at this point.

No, man, we played 4-4-1-1 against City and so it will be here, too.
