Agree. He is a less lacksadaisical and more water-carrier-like Muntari

Re: Moussa Sissoko
Again, he was a DM and defensive B2B at Toulouse and NT. So he failed as an attacking mid and an attacking B2B at Newcastle... of course he would! His strengths have always been ball recovery and breaking lines. But he's not a final pass kind of guy. Once he breaches a line, he needs to pass it off. But he will get you 5+ assists per season.
Not the greatest player in the world. But come on... I watched Newcastle and I was stunned that, even after Pardew, the new managers kept using him as an attacking type. He's absolutely not that. The stupid part was that he killed himself trying to attack and, as a result, looked out of position and ineffective defensively. If you knew him... you'd want him to kill himself trying to recover the ball and then let him run with it until you get to the final 1/3.
You do not want him to be in the attacking zone other than on a wing to cross it when he runs there.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
It's a pity that managers like McClaren and Benitez don't know what type of a player Sissoko is as well as you do sports.
They kept using him as an left or right sided ACM when in fact he is an inverted h2O-CDM, who's best deplyed on the wing.
Oh well, Zip Zidane to the rescue

Re: Moussa Sissoko
They didn't have anyone better (which is sad) to play ACM. France NT obviously do and Deschamps can then use him properly.
Even at Newcastle, he was great when Ben Arfa was the creator. It didn't work out with Cabella and Thauvin, forcing him to play that role... Which he can't.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
Btw, I'm not saying he's a great player. But I do feel that it's unfair to judge a player who has been played out of position due to necessity at the club level. He's a B2B that can, in very specific situations, also play as a winger. That's it. He can't do anything else.

Sissoko: "I hope Real Madrid will come for me, I'm still waiting. Newcastle United need to understand I want to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez not Jack Colback and Paul Dummet, and I need to move for that to happen."

Re: Moussa Sissoko
He didn't say the Dummett and Colback part lol.
Although his attitude is absolutely horrible and tbh he's a complete dick, not to mention he's utterly delusional. His performances over his career has barely been good enough for a CL club matter about Real *bleep* Madrid.
Honestly he should shut up and get on with it like the professional he's supposed to be, the two other players of relevance we have sold so far did that and they got their move a lot faster than he did lol.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
He doesn't want to play in division 2... it's very very very understandable. When Juve went down, a lot of players (including Ibra) jumped ship. Same with OM a few years back. Same with Monaco fairly recently.
Nothing dickish about it.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
True, sports. Pretty ridiculous of Newcastle to get relegated and then expect the more prominent players to stay.
Of course he wants to leave.
It's pretty unprofessional though by his agent not to have included a clause for what happens in a case of relegation - leave for a certain price etc.
That shouldn't be a problem since at Real Madrid there would always be a camera pointed at him

Re: Moussa Sissoko
I think Newcastle is unreasonable with its fee demand and Sissoko is not Real Madrid level... those are my issues. He'll get transferred somewhere by Aug 31. Newcastle will get less than what they want and Sissoko will go to somewhere other than Madrid.

He's constantly shitting on the club and it's fans and showing absolutely no professionalism or respect.
We are asking for too much? Well boo hoo, he's under *bleep* contract and we can do what the *bleep* we want.
If he doesn't like it he shouldn't have signed a 5 and a half year contract when he joined us. Maybe just maybe, if he actually tried to perform for the last 3 years instead of not giving a shit he would have got his move by now.

I think players should have it in their contract that they have to stay 1 more season if they get the club relegated.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
well tbf though most of these players singed for Newcastle when Sir Alex Pardew was still manager so OBVIOUSLY the thought of getting relegated was completely absurd

Considering the season he signed under Alan Pardew we only stayed up due to a Jose Bosingwa own goal not really.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
Anyway Rafa has spoken...
RB: "Moussa is someone we like as an individual and as a player." #NUFC
RB: "If someone come in with a right offer we will consider, but if it's not the right offer we are pleased to keep him here." #NUFC
RB: "If someone is waiting to do a deal on 30th August, no chance, because we don't need to sell." #NUFC
Basically what I have been saying all summer, either someone pays up or he stays because we have no reason to sell.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
Yeah and that's what one should believe because clubs, managers et all, always speak the truth.
Marotta: "We have no intention of selling Pogba for any price. We are not in the business of selling our best players."
Allegri: "We expect Pogba in training on Monday. I have talked to him and he will be there."
Flo Perez: "We haven't contacted Ancellotti as he is under contract with another club."
All of Barca's management... "We have truthfully reported all the fees associate with the transfer of Neymar. The investigation you are seeing is politically motivated."
Etc.

Re: Moussa Sissoko
Because those two situations are hardly the same thing.
Anyway it's 100% the case that we don't need to sell, we are the 19th richest club in the world.
It's easy to forget that because until relegation scared the shit out of him Ashley has treated the club like we were a tacky 2nd hand pound shop lol.
It's different now though, Benitez decides who goes and for what price. We have already rejected big offers for Perez, Mitrovic, Mbemba, Krul, Janmaat and so on.
The only big sale (Townsend had a release clause so pretty unavoidable) we have had who we wanted to keep was Wijnaldum and that was because Liverpool paid what we wanted.
So yeah the moral of the story here is pay up or shut up lol.
