Bartosz Salamon: the new De Jong?
Milan bought Salamon for 3.5 million. It is almost official. In this season, given De jong's and Ambro's injuries, i think he is going to be important in the DMF position of our 4-3-3.
What is your opinion? Do you like him?
Here is a video of his skills as a DMF.

He has been converted to Center back, that's where he really became famous.

we are literally becoming wat galliani and berlu painted at the start of the season.. a youthful side which would become competitive in italia and europe in a couple of years

He plays both CB and DMF (would it be crazy a comparison with Thiago?), but i think in this season he will be used as a DMF to replace NDJ. Just my opinion, though.

I think its critical that we find his best position as soon as possible and develop him there. With the lack of quality CB's these days, I would love if he became a top shelf CB within a year or 2. However, it's much easier to break into the team at DM, especially as a youngster

Seriously i am kind of happy we let go of Thiago and Ibra now it has made us start over and we are making one heck of a team now its just for us to keep them together and not sell them when they come big.

According to the journalist Ruiu, Salamon will play as a new Van Bommel or a new Desailly, as a DMF. That would be great.
New lineup:
Abbiati
De Sciglio Zapata Mexes Constant
Montolivo Salamon Boateng
Niang Balotelli El Sha

Re: Bartosz Salamon: the new De Jong?
Salamon said in an interview that he will play in defense for Milan. That's his best position in my opinion. He is tall, athletic, great in the air, great vision of the game, and great with his feet. I can't wait to have him in our squad.

Good signing. We need a CB more than we need a DM, so I'd play him at CB first off.

Re: Bartosz Salamon: the new De Jong?
Some people on the Red and Black forums who claim to have seen him play and know what they're talking about say that he's really more of a defensive midfielder than a CB (although he can play both).
Last year he played as a DMF and excelled in his role. This year he was playing in the center of a 3 man defense and was playing very well. However, when playing as a CB in a four man defense he appears to be less comfortable.
He's very comfortable with the ball at his feet and is apparently a hell of a long passer. Maybe he'd be better suited for that anchor role in our midfield 3. We'll have to wait and see. Either way, he's an exciting prospect and I have high hopes for him.

Re: Bartosz Salamon: the new De Jong?
Brescia is literally my local club from childhood and although I haven't followed them like I did before, when I occasionally did see Brescia it was always as a CB as I can't remember him in midfield.
What I did see was someone excellent with the ball on his feet, an intelligent mind but slow, and a little risky coming off from the back. Can't say too much as I didn't see enough
If he is as good as people say as DM then hopefully he starts alongside Monty and KPB.
This definitely soothes the pain of Acerbi leaving
