Newcastle's French flood- End of season prediction
Re: Newcastle Prediction- Remainder of the season
Everton are inconsistent away from home and Liverpool are inconsistent overall. Newcastle just need to keep winning.

They are but its not them that i think we have to worry about as i think they will stay up regardless.
Norwich are the team that concerns me.... they have West Brom at home and City away and they are playing like crap.
We better their total in last 2 and we stay up and i think a win at QPR will do it.
If only we had goal line technology we would be safe already as Cisse was ruled out another legitimately good goal
That is 7 goals he has had ruled out this season incorrectly
What a f*cking moron Pardew is though, luckily he will be gone in the summer.

Sorry Mole
We only have to pay one year of his contract which is less than 500k.
We are already speaking to managers about taking over next season.
Ashley has had enough, the only reason he's still in the job is because there is no one to take over.
Raptorgunner wrote:Mole I hope you win next week and not count on beating us.
So do i because there is no way in hell we are beating you in our current state.
I think we will though, there was positive signs today.

Yeah I don't think anyone that wants the league to stay entertaining and competitive wants Newcastle relegated.

Yeah, they've put themselves in a spot of bother. It could even come down to goal-difference (Norwich and Wigan -22, Newcastle -23) and Manchester City are likely to put a few into Norwich's net on the final day. I'd like to see them stay up, hopefully they'll beat West Brom, although I've got a feeling that the Baggies have got the players to deal with Norwich's ailing attack.

I still think Wigan won't be so lucky this season... We beat them and then they draw on the final day against Villa.

Re: Newcastle Prediction- Remainder of the season
I don't want Norwich to get relegated simply because Suarez loves traveling to Carrow Road and we never have much problems against them.
On the other hand i think Wigan and Newcastle add much more to the league than Norwich do.
Still hoping Stoke somehow crumble.

Wigan add nothing to the league. They've spent years barely escaping relegation.
Norwich at least can score points and give higher teams trouble.

Re: Newcastle Prediction- Remainder of the season
Wigan doesn't add anything to the league. It was okay at first.. the minnows have miraculously escaped relegation and what not. However, it is getting monotonous now. They don't try to improve at all.
The only thing good about Newcastle is their quality players and many of those will eventually join PL clubs after getting relegated.
I want either of these teams to be the third to get relegated.

Re: Newcastle Prediction- Remainder of the season
I've got nothing against Wigan, but they'll hardly be missed if they go down.
It's intriguing that there are three clubs at 40 points who might not pick up any more points. At least one of them might stay at 40 pts.
Stoke: Sunderland (a), Tottenham (h), Southampton (a)
Fulham: Liverpool (h), Swansea (a)
Aston Villa: Chelsea (h), Wigan (a)
It's a long shot, but if the teams below them manage to win one of their remaining two games and Wigan win two of their three, then you'd have a club with 40 pts going down, which would be quite extraordinary.

40 points is no longer safe. Granted, 43 seems to be very much safe.
I'd be happy for Sunderland to go down too.

I think it would be, win against QPR and we would go to 41....
11th currently has 40, not everyone between 11th and 18th will better that.

Re: Newcastle Prediction- Remainder of the season
Just playing devils advocate here, but doesn't the mere fact that we're discussing Wigan suggest that they do add something to the league? Are they likely to suddenly end up challenging for the title, European football, or even top-ten? Probably not. However, they have consistently act as an agitating force at the bottom of the table, ensuring the uncertainty (and therefore entertainment value) of one of the three distinct competitions within the Premier League (Title, European Places, and Relegation). That is value of a sort, and it's one reason I won't be too arsed if they manage to stay up once again. It seems that every year they dig themselves a bigger hole, and then they find some miraculous way to avoid the drop. To be honest, I'd rather see a team playing interesting football (i.e. tactically unusual and positive) scrap out of the relegation places year after year than watch a team consistently finish somewhere from 15th-11th by playing dour football.
Norwich certainly look to be in hot water after failing to beat Aston Villa. However, Sunderland could usurp them as frontrunner to drop, should the black cats fail to get anything from their home match with Stoke on Monday. Norwich still have to face West Brom (H) and Man City (A). However, Sunderland aren’t much better off, still having to face Southampton (H) and Tottenham (A). Neither club will feel confident should they go into the final match of the season needing a result to avoid relegation.
Personally, I don’t want to include Newcastle in this discussion until after next week’s fixture. If there is one match that could decide a club’s immediate future, it’s likely Newcastle’s trip to Loftus Road. Newcastle’s away form has been atrocious this season, but QPR may just have been worse. QPR will have already been relegated for several weeks prior to this match, which could work in Newcastle’s favor. Much like Norwich and Sunderland, they won’t want to face Arsenal on the last day needing a result.
In short, while all four clubs (Newcastle, Norwich, Sunderland and Wigan) will go into the final day with a hope of survival, it’s far more likely that the final relegation spot will be decided by the combination of results from the penultimate weekend.

Southampton only have 39 pts. Hopefully they scrap points to avoid the final day fiasco.

Re: Newcastle Prediction- Remainder of the season
I agree with DTOR.
It will most likely be decided this weekend with Sunderland, Ourselves and Norwich facing Tottenham, Arsenal and City respectively.
Also Villa and Wigan facing each other.

Maybe the Stoke and this thread should be merged into one relegation thread, but there are some massive matches coming up.
Sunderland 1 - 1 Stoke
Wigan v Swansea
Norwich v West Brom
QPR v Newcastle
Sunderland v Southampton

We are gone, how the holy f*ck did Pardew f*ck this up
The teams around us would love to have the players we have, Lambert said as much in January
We won't come back straight up again this time either.
