Before the emergence of Marquinhos, he was considered our undisputed best defender and frankly I think he still is. He's been quite steady, uncompromising in the tackle and pretty good on the ball. I think young Marcos reads the game a bit better than him though and is little more adventurous with his passing, but Castan has been a very good addition to the squad overall.
