Pazzini > Cassano
Stats in all competitions (bar friendlies):
Cassano: 25 games, 6 goals, 9 assists
Pazzini: 23 games, 10 goals, 2 assists
We all thought that we were getting hugely ripped off when we sold Cassano for Pazzini AND gave Inter 7 million Euros as part of the deal... but the truth is that whilst we were still getting gypped, it wasn't as big a swindle as we all thought it was.
AC Milan scoring charts (all comps, bar friendlies):
El Shaarawy: 17
Pazzini: 10
Bojan: 3
Robinho: 2
Nocerino: 2
Emanuelson: 2
Montolivo: 2
. . .
Last year we suffered hugely because we didn't have a reliable source of goals to fall back on when Ibra was having a rough day. This year Pazzini is playing a very important role in filling that void when SES has a bad day. Unlike Pazzini, Cassano's talent is assist making rather than taking the opportunities himself. This is perhaps why this move has worked out somewhat better than expected for us.
Last season's scoring charts (all comps, bar friendlies):
Ibrahimovic: 35
~ MASSIVE GAP ~
Nocerino: 11
Robinho: 10
Boateng: 9
Cassano: 4
Pato: 4
SES: 4
. . .
Now, let's do a very simplistic comparison by just doubling this season's current statistics to get a projection that we can compare with last season's stats...
Predicted end of season goal tally:
This is obviously not an accurate scientific analysis here, but what I really want to demonstrate is how Pazzini fills that weight of goals that we were missing from a secondary striker last season.

Re: Pazzini > Cassano
He's been immense these last few string of games, his form should be up now and continue to rise

Re: Pazzini > Cassano
YES! I really wish we still had a kudo system because you would have a +1. Pazzini in form is an incredible goal scorer. He isn't going to beat anyone on the dribble, but either did Inzaghi. I've said OVER and OVER our team looks best with Pazzini on the field. He is the type of player that needs service, and now there are players stepping up and serving him. It also takes some needed pressure off of SES to score all the goals. Cassano leaving for Pazzini was also a blessing in disguise because we would not of had the emergence of SES.
