Re: Incredible fact of the day...
I'm not sure why you brought this "incredible fact" to this thread, at all.

It's an incredible fact that Xavi is sitting 6th in the table of most chances created in World Cup history IMO, that's why.

So it's incredible fact for one of the best midfielders ever?

Re: Incredible fact of the day...
I didn't expect him to be THAT high down the list considering that he's not just a final ball machine like, say, Özil but does a lot more midfield work which doesn't include "creating chances". No, I wouldn't have expected him to be in the top 6 at all.Harmonica wrote:So it's incredible fact to one of the best midfielders ever?

At the time he was the final ball machine, did you watch football back then?futbol wrote:I didn't expect him to be THAT high down the list considering that he's not just a final ball machine like, say, Özil but does a lot more midfield work which doesn't include "creating chances". Yeah but 11 man Barca without Messi beat 11 man Madrid with Cristiano.Harmonica wrote:10 man R.Madrid without Cronaldo hammers Galatasaray, when at the same time Barcelona without Messi loses to 10 man Ajax.
Shocking difference in squad strengths.
Or was Messi playing in that game, hard to tell.

But Messi played that game, I also think I saw Messi making most tackles in that game, including defenders, keeping Marcelo at bay and completely disrupting Madrid's attack, and Cronaldo having only 1 shot first time in La Liga's history. The Franchise wrote:Just recently, October I think?

No problemo, I always thought you miss half of what is happening in the field.

But what intrigues me is how you attempt to prove that Barcelona is more reliant on their star than Real Madrid is on their star.

Re: Incredible fact of the day...
Messi's slightly more important for Barca than Ronaldo is for Real Madrid. He makes their system work.
Real Madrid can win games with any decent forward. Not saying Ronaldo isn't important though.

This suprises you? He is more of a Messi fan than Barca supporter. He has time and time again talked badly about the rest of the team just to make Messi look greater.Arquitescu wrote:Causation does not equal correlation. There you go again using uncertainties against definite arguments, yeah stats, the only thing definitive.
What I find funny with your stats are the only thing definitive, is the fact that alot of time tells a completely different story to the reality. Like that Fabregas-was-better-than-Iniesta-last-season that you were sprouting at the end of last season.
Anyway, everyone knows that it's impossible to talk to you when it comes to Messi and stats, so I will just ignore you from now on.
You think it tells the different story, because you're illogical and your mind is weak. You can't form a collective opinion properly, and that's why you can't argue properly for it. I said Fabregas was as good or better (can't remember) in La Liga last season, which he was.
You'll ignore me? Like the last 5 times you said that, just to indirectly stalk me week after? Yeah, I would like to see you try, it would save me time to try to explain simplest of logical expressions.
In the mean time Real hammers Valladolid without Cronaldo and Barca without Messi looks completely out of it and loses to Bilbao. No surprises there.

You're comparing a result against a team that's second from bottom to a team that's currently 4th place in the League? Jesus.Harmonica wrote:harhar11 wrote:This suprises you? I think Harmonica is on to something tbh. Barcelona look clueless without Messi, maybe he really was the manager...

Last season same opponent (Athletic) and same score (0-1 down). Messi comes from bench and scores this goal

Messi was badly missed today..
Neymar is not creating things out of nothing like we expected him to, which isn't as bad as it sounds because he has been a very good system player.. problem is we already have many system players we need magic.
