I'm siding with Gattuso, only Allegri can lead this Milan. He puts high trust in youth, and this season has proved he is willing to take risks with the players he has. People were talking about us getting relegated this season, even if it was a joke and we are still competing for Europe. Just watch, next season he will turn Saponara into a superstar.

I once again reiterate, we wouldn't be better off with any manager in the world. It isn't like we are having a great squad filled with superstars and the only thing wrong is the tactical choices. I'm not saying that Allegri is not at fault, but the individual errors and the poor personnel in the squad are the primary reasons why we are in this position. Any manager would struggle, it doesn't matter if he is a master tactician, he should have players who can comprehend what he is trying to say. Unfortunately, we don't have such players. So please keep calm and stop blaming allegri.

As an outsider, I think he's doing good job with Milan. That's the max he could achieve with the squad. One of your club target is Donadoni, I love the man but i can assure you he's not better than Allergi. You complain about boring football, wait til you watch hoofball Parma. The only option I think could do alright for Milan now is Guidolin.

I've always wanted to see Mazzarri, too bad he will never come to Milan. His sides always play the most exciting football in my opinion. What he did for Reggina, Sampdoria, and Napoli is just incredible. I've always wanted to see him at the very top.

The changes for Allegri to stay becomes smaller, with Frank Rijkaard available on the market!
He would be the perfect choice for new believe in our team!

Going on tangent...i believe we should stick with him until his contract runs out, the players do not want him to leave and i believe bringing in a coach right now will cause more problems than cure.... I ain't disregarding what he did for us this season..but the thing is "we could've" keeps spiraling in my head, 2nd place, R16, last year.. I still like the guy and you have to give credit where credit is due tbf

Our league is perhaps the finest example that a lack of continuity can be devastating. Allegri is set to achieve Champions League qualification with a squad previously dubbed at the start of the season as the worst Milan squad in 25 years. The names being suggested as replacements are either unrealistic or pointless sidesteps and in many cases we'd be selecting an inferior manager.

He has momentum, a united dressing room that has his respect and has also grown as a manager during his time at our club. He quite simply, must be retained.

Should Allegri Stay? - Page 2 Empty Re: Should Allegri Stay?

Post by Dante Fri May 17, 2013 1:53 pm

He should definitely stay for another season and i am sure he will , if he achieves CL qualification . CL for next season was the agreed goal between him and the management. Win Siena and this talk will be but obsolete soon .

Berlusconi didn't even show the door to Ancelotti when he lost the CL final in Instabul and Farcelotti didn't have half the problems to deal with like Allegri has had this season. Not only he kept him , but he stayed as long as 2009 , because of Galliani . And it is because of Galliani Allegri will stay on if he reaches the CL, despite the fact Allegri deserves a contract extention , put aside to keep his contract intact..

There are many fans of Milan still not convinced about Allegri. And the fact is , when they can't respect and appreciate this man after such a whirlwind season with all the stress , doubt and difficulties he has had to deal and overcome with a Milan which basically had to build foundations again , then it's almost a certainty they will never do.

Ses wouldn't score 20 goals this season under such circumstances if not for Allegri , nor De Sciglio would get his NT call and come close to be a regular with Milan that soon , if not for Allegri doing his work with them since last season .

There's no way any other coach would accept continue at this job , after losing Silva , Cassano , Ibra , Nesta , Gattuso , Van Bommel , Inzaghi , best part of his team and being brought Niang and Bojan to reinforce the squad. He actualy did change teams last summer and he succeeded no doubt by forging something new whilst being 90 minutes away of reaching the season's objective.

Milan would get humiliated in San Siro with another coach against Barcelona , because whom would understand our players better than him . He believes in this team , he makes them over perform when they are capable and transform his ideas to perfection. It's something only the best kind of coaches possess.

And any coach who has shown the door to Ronaldinho , Pato and Pirlo in the space of 2 years , has balls. End of it. He can lead , he can change and he doesn't fear , only worry. That's the mould of a leader , mind you and i seriously doubt if we can find any better these days , with Berlusconi unwilling and to a degree unable to spend.

So , yes he should stay. I've admired his job even before Milan and i wished Milan had a coach like him instead of Leo and not long after , my wish became true. He did change the face of Milan , in case some mates have forgotten. Remember Milan under Leonardo ? I still can't forget it to be honest. Berlusconi even spent some money under Allegri , because he did trust him , unlike Leonardo. I am not sure what may have changed , but we win Siena and he won't have a good reason to show him the door , that's for sure. And seeing how the whole team has been behind him and the fans support , he won't dare fire him like that.

He kept Ancelotti after Instabul ffs , he won't fire Allegri for doing the unthikable this season .
I think Galliani and the players, even former ones, are the most important factor here and all are in support of Allegri , so i think Berlusconi won't do anything , at least not as long as Max meets the objective of the season .

Post by dostoevsky Fri May 17, 2013 3:18 pm

I believe that even more telling of Berlusconi's relationship with Ancelotti was not that he survived Istanbul, but that he survived failing to qualify for the Champions League, as Carlo himself was displaced by Fiorentina.

On a personal level, I feel that the fractious nature of Allegri's relationship with Berlusconi is more readily felt, though it is one born out of Berlusconi's tactical ignorance which breeds frustration. Where as Leonardo found Berlusconi's shadow equally suffocating and repulsive, Allegri has behaved professionally for the good of the team. That Berlusconi himself wants to replace Allegri I have no doubt, however Galliani and the dressing room do provide a significant buffer. Should we acquire the Champions League, Allegri would have met our objectives for the season, not simply in terms of results on the pitch but also in the development of our project, nurturing our youngsters, putting faith in the right players to improve the team's organisation and he has redistributed the responsibility of Ibrahimovic in a gradual and effective manner.

Sacking a coach who has qualified for the Champions League and who has the full support of the dressing room would reflect very poorly on the club in my opinion, I just hope that Galliani protects Max throughout this summer. If we bring in Spaletti or Mazzari, we will regret it in the coming league race next season. Continuity and balance is the key, Allegri provides both.

Fully agreed . Sacking Allegri will be an irrational choice whichever way you look at it . When Ambrosini came out and said Berlusconi barely changes his mind when an idea gets in there , i realised that we might lose Allegri and the possibility is real.

But since everybody want him to stay within the club, Berlusconi must find a good reason to fire him and the only good reason to fire him is to replace him with one who's top notch. It's unlikely he will be giving a top coach a top salary , so Allegri most probably will stay .. perhaps even if he didn't qualify Milan for CL , yeah.

He kept Ancelotti twice because of Galliani and now he has all the more reasons to give in to , especialy with Allegri doing a great job actualy. Stability as you say is of paramount importance and with some proper fixes within the roster , we could be fighting for the league next season , why not. All depends on Allegri however and for all his problems with him , i think he'll eventualy stand back and keep to his ruined politic career and bunga parties Laughing

I havent liked our midfield since like 2007. After that we grew too old and everything started crumbling.

I would rather see an attempt of getting at least 1 more techically giftet midfielder than have a squad full of DMFs, its a bit painful to watch at times. We should only go for 1 pure DMF at all times Imo, or we lose control of midfield too much. This I think Montella would approve of, instead with Allegri I think he worships the safety of all the DMF deployed at the same time. Its kind of like playing it safe tbh. I think we should try to play better techical football if we cant compete with the top in the CL anyways, might aswell make it clear that we want to play well and more entertaining.

Allegri was a technicaly gifted midfielder as a player , once. He understands how a midfield should work well enough. But when all you have is Muntari and Nocerino and Flamini e.t.c , not so gifted players with the ball , you do with what you possess. And he still made the best lemonade out of the lemons he has had. Make a little patience here and i hope you ll understand that you are making a mistake about Allegri and all the DMF he supposedly preffers , instead of creative and technical players.

Here's how it goes with the dmf's , because it can be tricky sometimes. First of all , not every DMF or deep lying playmaker will suit all formations. It's differently done between 4-3-1-2 and 4-3-3 . During Pirla's last season , we deployed the first one and in that system , it can work with two ways :

1. You play a deep lying playmaker as the DMF , basicaly a false DMF and in front of him you place two work horses to allow him space for long balls or killer passes, help him in defence or give him the option to pass the ball to them instead if he can't find targets up front. Then back to him again , until he can find a target up front/the fullback make the overlap.

2. You play a real DMF in the middle of the 3 like Allegri did with Ambrosini at first , then with M.Van Bommel. And why is that? Because if your workhorses are a washed up Gattuso , a washed up Ambrosini , a newcomer in Boateng and an injured Flamini , you basicaly have no other choice if you want to win the title. So instead , you play someone who protects the defence and move that ROLE in the left or the right , depending which position your player is best at. In that case , he positioned Pirlo to the left and after Pirlo was gone , he did the same with Seedorf after Hamsik never came and Aquilani couldn't keep up. To the right , he left it under the circumstances of each game to choose between players , because plain simply he had no definite creative choice there after Seedorf moved to the left , athough it was mostly Nocerino who was doing very well at this role , basicaly around a stacked midfield. In just a 3 man midfield with a lot more responsibilities he didn't seem to be the same player.

Anyway .

It worked well enough to win us the scudetto in 11 , but Galliani had to replace Pirlo and instead of bringing Mr.X in the likes of Hamsik , he brought Aquilani and Nocerino , players who were plain risks. Aquilani didn't manage it after a certain point , whilst Noce did it but only in the final third , taking advantage of the creativity of our forward line; whilst he failed to add his part in the creative aspect of our midfield so the forwards cound benefit from him , it happened vice versa and our forwards whichever them would be , tended to create for him and Noce finish the chances ; someone had to be creative in his place obviously Laughing , that's why he ended up with all these goals . To end with is , Seedorf was not always at his best in the left , so it didn't work all the times , especialy when Boateng was injured and Emanuelson was playing as AMF Laughing

Now , in the 4-3-3 , you can't but have a player who will be protecting the defence at all costs as DMF. It cannot work no other way , because in a 3man midfield which two of them have creative responsibilities mostly , the player most near the defence has to stay back and let others play up front , or chase balls and make tackles when necessary. Montolivo can do it as a DMF who also has a DLP role there , but he's not so good at protecting the defence as De Jong is and De Jong isn't that gifted as Montolivo is up front. So , De Jong is a real DMF , who does the DMF role in the DMF position . Every 4-3-3 has that man in front of the defence ; now , if some are more gifted , that's another matter entirely. For instance , Busquets is more gifted with the ball than our De Jong , but his role is nevertheless the same , stay back for the others to attack , win headers , chase players to stop them near his area e.t.c. .

Moving on to Montolivo now , he assumes the definite DLP ROLE , that in any other system would be in De Jong's place or in the 4-2-3-1 , next with De Jong , but both of them keeping the same roles. Monty does the deep lying playmaking through the left midfield equaly well or even from the right sometimes , when the play finds him there/must start because someone else is missing.

Moving on to the final right midfield position , i promise i am done soon Laughing . That player has to have traits similar to Montolivo , but not quite be the same player. You need a player to be able not only to press when he's needed to , but one who can dribble and make run ins in the box. Now , Hamsik would have been the perfect player had we bought him last season and the false assumption that Allegri doesn't want creative players would be long dead by now , because a midfield of Hamsik - De Jong - Montolivo would kick ass this season , both at nice play and keeping the balance between offense and defence. Allegri is just flexible and works with what he has , he's not Gandalf to make Muntari play like Iniesta at his age Laughing . Although , with that in mind , Flamini did superceede himself and all my expectations this season , not by playing Iniesta , but doing the basics of his role to perfection most of the time and the team actualy enjoyed that very much. SO , at right midfield , we need a dribbler , someone who can finish a chance near or inside the box and combine both pressing and creativity in his place. Boateng could be that man , if the fool only understands to not hesitate with the ball at his feet. Doesn't matter , someone else will if not him :coffee:

We are lucky to have both De Jong and Montolivo in our squad. In case we buy Poli and Boateng drops a bit further back next season , we will have a very solid midfield. De Jong will be the classic DMF and Montolivo will continue the role he does now , but in Pirlo's/Seedorf's position to the left. Boateng/Flamini/Poli or whoever will prove sufficient depth to deal with any sort of opposition as well .

And not only we will have depth , but we can be flexible about the DMF/DLP too , in case of injuries. We have the right players in case we need to mix it up and if Nocerino leaves and we buy that fking technical midfielder we all want , our midfield will be something to be hold next season. So you see mate , Allegri has had no other choice but play how he did in the last two years and this season at times too . Now with our possesion minded play , we need this player more than ever and i am sure Galliani will do everything possible to make this gift to Allegri and to the fans as well . Allegri should have to choose between Montolivo , Boateng , Flamini and that X player next season and have De Jong , Muntari and Ambrosini as clear DMFs , basicaly what you want.

But it's not Allegri's fault when they don't bring him the few players he actualy needs , in fact , we should be thanking him for what he achieved with all this missplaced players and how they managed to perform under him all these 3 years. Pirlo left us a big whole to fill and whilst i won't go talk about Pirlo right now, only with Montolivo we started to make real progress again. Now we just need to find a player to replace Seedorf and we will be back on track again and all this talk about how Allegri supposedly preffers DMFs instead of technical players will finaly stop , because , really , it doesn't have a shred of truth in it.

I am not bashing Allegri, but the fact is we are Milan, and we are fighting for a CL place along with Fiorentina, who with Montella got several players cheap and created a rather great team + playing entertaining football just like that.

All Im saying is that if Montella came in, it wouldnt be the end of the world, in fact, one of our better coaching choices over the years. But I believe in Allegri for now, I just wish for another young techical midfielder who can help Montolivo out.

You said it yourself mate , Montella was given players .Fiorentina spended some money to get him what he asked obviously. Allegri got what, he lost half a team and got Traore , Niang and Acerbi . you kidding me , who is he , the great wizard of oz Laughing

Although he did get De Jong and Montolivo , two fantastic players. Did you see Allegri choosing Muntari and Nocerino or Traore , instead of them ? Obviously no , they became the pillars of our midfield. All i am saying is , Allegri likes this kind of players , is just Galliani fails to deliver them. When he actualy does , Allegri makes miracles with them , as witnessed with MVBommel , Monty , De Jong , even Boateng flurished under Allegri , when his career wasn't at it's best back then..

Whether he stays or not , we will have our midfielders next season along with Monty and De Jong , but it would be so unfair after having pissed on Allegri like that , to make the signings he always wanted. I hope he even even demands them midfielders , after all he got through . He deserves it if anything Proud

Guys, I think he has been sacked. Berlu told that entire coaching staff will be changed and the decision was made early on the season after the disastrous start, there might be change in structure too. Milan has come out and denied this, so there's some hope.

That came from a supposed letter Berlu sent to a tv show to be read on air, however the club denied that Berlu sent any letter of sort.

Galliani said Allegri's future will be decided on Wednesday.

Everyone said Messi will be a great player one day ; and it was true. But it took time . Seedorf would come too soon if truth be told. Too soon. I love him more than i can show from a keyboard , but at this point in time , if Allegri were to leave , i'd preffer another option i guess. Prefferably Rijkaard who all have completely forgotten about , he's a great manager imo .

Although i find the rumours hilarious because Seedorf is still playing football , he doesn't even a coach license ffs Laughing . I would support him 100% if he really would be our coach next season.

Pls no Seedorf, no new coach.

We finally have some momentum going and the team feels right to me. We have a very balanced team with additional reinforcements coming in midfield and hopefully in defense we might have a good team.

We just need to keep on growing and get better.
