You are comparing Bayern matching up against a 'lowly' Bundesliga team to Bayern facing off against a Champions League side and at the knockout stages.
Different scenario altogether..Mentality of the players ,focus ,tactics everything is going to be different since its an important knockout game and this is the Champions league we're talking about.
Ofcourse Podolski has caused problems for Bayern in the past but lets not make it sound like something Bayern would find difficult to deal with.

Arsenal could prove to be an interesting challenge. Bayern can't seem to play away from the Allianz so Arsenal do have an advantage at the Emirates where I can't see Bayern winning. Plus Arsenal have Podolski...

Difference between the Koln and future Arsenal scenarios: Podolski was played centrally at Koln. (Except the last game).

While anything can happen, Arsenal is a second division club compared to Bayern.

This will be a much closer encounter than people think. I'm rooting for Arsenal on this one but I see Bavaria edging it tbh. Hopefully Wenger reinforces in the winter.

Re: Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich
If we want to have a chance we'll have to get a 2 goal margin in the first leg.
Or we need some luck. Like a red card going our way. And we need to get on a fecking roll of good wins and great performances, ffs! It's juz gonna be so tough. But one things for sure it'll be two fantastic matches and juz something else for a change. The first time that I'll see my beloved Arsenal take on the mighty Germans, Bayern Munich.

I highly doubt it. Lahm will have him in his pocket, he'll get raped when tracking back to help Gibbo. I mean, c'mon man. Have you watched us lately???? There's always that half a chance that when we face a big team, we can get torn to pieces!

You're still not as shit as Köln, but yes, he was played as an SS/CF there, so you might still be screwed :/

Of course, that team is purely fantasy. We probably won't see Diaby again this season
I can see Arsenal beating Bayern with these players however if Gibbs, Diaby are injured Im calling for a big win for Bayern!

People rate Bayern München pretty high, and deservedly so. Bayern are favourites and Arsenal will play without pressure.

Re: Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich
Even though Bayern are clear favourites theres some serious under rating of Arsenal going on here too, IF they can keep their players fit and IF Wenger brings in some more quality in Jan (yes i know theyre both huge ifs) then Arsenal are shoe in to steal this tie, but they would need their big names like Carzola and Wilshire to really stand up

Re: Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich
'Arsenal are not a top club any more' - former Bayern star Salihamidzic
Former Bayern Munich midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic has stated Arsenal are no longer a "top club" after the Gunners were drawn against the German giants in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Arsene Wenger's side made it out of the group stages of the competition, yet face last season's finalists in a tricky tie and also trail Manchester United in the Premier League race by 15 points.
The 35-year-old thinks the German side - who lead the Bundesliga by nine points - should be considered the favourites to go through, but knows from past experience that Arsenal will provide a stern test.
"[The draw] is a top quality encounter footballers live for. However, it needs to be said that Arsenal aren't among the top clubs anymore. They have too many problems this season," he told TZ Online.
"Bayern are favourites clearly favourites in this match. But they have to be careful: it's always difficult to win in England.
"Arsenal don't play typically British but rather a well-groomed combination football. But I actually think that Bayern can take advantage of this - they will be able to adapt better to that than against teams who park the bus. They will be interesting matches."
And while Jupp Heynckes can call on the likes of Bastien Schweinsteiger, Philipp Lahm and Thomas Muller to drive his team on to victory, Salihamidzic thinks a German player in Arsenal's side could decide the tie - Lukas Podolski.
"[Podolski] will be motivated - after all he will play against his colleagues from the [German] national team. For sure he will want top show that he has become an important player in England. Therefore, [Bayern] will have to watch out for him."
The midfielder also stated that the Bundesliga leaders are favourites alongside Spanish giants Barcelona to win the competition.
"FC Barcelona and Bayern are the teams who currently convince the most and have the best consistency in their performances," he added.
"I think that Barca and Bayern are a bit above the rest at the moment."
..
These comments could probably spice up this potential rivalry

He is right. We are not there up with barca/Bayern/Chelsea
I don't think he meant any disrespect because he is talking from experience as we played bayern back in 2005 and he scored a goal. He is just comparing that side with ours atm

What do you mean 'you are not up there with Chelsea' ?
As if they are the pinnacle of football right now.
I think you're joking either ways.

What can Arsenal do that Bayern can't do better? And it's not like Arsenal can park the bus efficiently.
