Doomtree: an indie hip hop collective based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The collective has seven members, rappers P.O.S, Dessa, Cecil Otter, Sims, and Mike Mictlan; and producers Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger. The collective is known for incorporating a wide range of musical influences into their work with lyrical complexity and wordplay, and their annual "Doomtree Blowout" events held in Minneapolis venues to showcase their group performances and the Twin Cities music scene.

I typically don't listen to stuff like the kind of stuff posted in this thread (just personal preference) but I'm making through Dessa's "Parts of Speech" album from 2013 and it's fantastic. I really enjoy Dessa.
Would recommend P.O.S from Doomtree as well of course, and have done so before.

Re: The official Black Sheep music thread
It's back
Since I've last posted in this thread, I've learned to enjoy hip hop and I've seen Dessa live twice (one as a solo artist once with Doomtree) and also a different artist you had in here named Emancipator live as well.
Had a chance to see Bonobo (higher up the page) live too but missed it. Regret that one, good artist.

Good read, love RhymeSayers. Slug, Aesop, Doom, Ali, Eyedea, Grayskul, etc etc.
just saw this the other day, hope you don't mind me posting it here
Eyedea was probably one of the most underrated freestylers there was.

Re: The official Black Sheep music thread
Deca has become one of my favorite to do it....recently purchased his new album and it delivered!
Posting from my Mobile so I'm only posting two tracks - if you dig it, I highly encourage you checking out his catalogue.

Hard to imagine that I'm only just now "properly" introducing myself to Tonedeff!
Consider this a half-hearted attempt at a return and perhaps there will be more to come...can this thread (inner)stand the test of time?
