The First Annual GoalLegacy Awards- Results

Welcome to the 1st Annual GoalLegacy awards. It has been delayed for a long, long time and it’s all my fault for being lazy and not finding the time to do so. However I thought this would be the perfect timing to present the long awaited awards.

I would like to thank BarrileteCosmico who conducted the voting process. Without him, the awards wouldn’t have functioned so a massive thanks to him on behalf of the Admin team. I would also like to thank every single person who voted and took park in the organisation of the GoalLegacy Awards as it was some fantastic work overall and worked out really well.

GoalLegacy has achieved a lot in a year and a half. It has exceeded our expectations because we didn’t think that we would be able to get so many members in and the forum would be stable for so long. Of course many things have happened during the time, things we would have rather avoided and things we wish didn’t have happened but despite that we all moved together as a community and we are at a point where it is beginning to look like we are more than just a forum, we are fare more than that. Most of our achievements, our progression is because of the fact we all were in this together. I know that we Admins are not your best pals and that we take actions which make us appear to be unjust and wrong but we don’t do it gladly, it’s never easy for us and maybe it’s not easy to understand at that point but trust me, we do care about our posters. We always have, and we will continue to do so.

This is a great way to show our appreciation to the members, It is a way to let you know that what you do is really respected by everyone else and especially by us, hence a way we can say that each of you are valued in this forum. Also on a side note, I would like to say that the awards take place for the timeline between the 1st years of the forum and a bit so therefore if any new member who is really popular doesn’t win anything, then you should expect the award at our 2nd year awards next year. Therefore without any further delay, I shall announce the result of the 1st Annual GoalLegacy Awards.

Our forum is blessed with pretty knowledgeable posters; however The Franchise is undoubtedly at the top of the bunch. He doesn’t talk about an issue unless he has full knowledge of it. He doesn’t us wiki articles to gather information but he is one of those who watch and analyse a certain thing such as a match or a player and then talk about it. Whether it’s something about the past or present, his judgement is more or less impartial and he always goes with what he believes in. Well deserved!

Second Category: Who is the Best debater and/or most intelligent poster of the season?

The best debater of the season goes to.. Dostoevsky!!

Whether if it’s something off-topic or about football. The one guy who will always be there debating with knowledge, facts and impartiality, it will be Dostoevsky. He doesn't let his bias get in the way. He will debate and for the right reasons. He won’t push in his point of view but will explain it fully and tell you why he thinks he believes in that thing. He really is a fantastic debater

Third Category: Who is the funniest/wittiest poster of the season?

What can you say about lex ? He can make you laugh at will, he is that good. His jokes are unrivalled; he will pull something out of nothing even if there is no possibility of a humorous escape. Most of his quotes are legendary and there should be a warning somewhere to chat with him with caution due to his brilliant wit!

Nick doesn't take anyone’s shit. That’s the best way to describe this. If he believes a person isn’t right, he will engage in the debate till he shows his point of view. Whether if it’s regarding Madrid or just general football. This isn’t a bad thing; it just shows his strong mentality.

Fifth Category: What is GoalLegacy’s meme of the season?

And I would have been deceived if this hadn’t won the meme of the year. Yes, you may have guessed it. “I have been deceived” has won meme of the season! It won overwhelmingly 80% of the votes, probably the most successful meme which is still going as strong as ever. Special mention to Xavi erm.

Sixth Category: What is GoalLegacy’s Quote of the season?

It was a very close poll. The amount of awesome posters we have is unbelievable but you have picked your choice and it’s not a surprising one. Mole is the definition of awesome; he is liked by nearly everyone and I don’t think anyone can sat anything bad about him.

The noobiest poster of the season goes to… Rebano Sagrado!!

I must admit that right now, they can’t be said as nooby at all. Both Barrett and Rebano have gone on to become established and mature members but thinking about the 1st year it’s quite funny to realise how they were before. This award is in a way, a fun award to give out to and it’s not a bad thing to win it at all. Rebs, you are the noob of the 1st season mate. Congrats!

It’ didn't come as a surprise that you all picked him out as your member of the season. Well deserved!

Also, thank you for anyone who voted for me in any of the awards. Cant believe im still winning these things..I assumed by now everyone would be sick of me and I built up too many "enemies" even if I dont see them as such.

I think maybe Khaled's more recent lack of posting won me the Barca section award, he really does deserve it too for all he does for us.

The older members deserve it, anyhow. Despite all the love some people are getting here, and deservedly, I see many amazing posters here who aren't being mentioned. You guys are just as important (and my favorites ).

Didn't have any expectations at all for these awards having only joined when GL started (I was a lurker in the lithium days). Thanks, and congrats to all the winners and admins/mods for organising this, especially the non self-proclaimed Voice of Reason, dostoevsky.
