African cup of nations : Boakye called ! Asamoah joins him

The coach of Ghana, Kwesi Appiah, has issued a list of 25 pre-squad for the upcoming African Nations Cup. Included on the list of a player owned by Juventus, Kwadwo Asamoah and Richmond Boakye.Non convened, however, the AC Milan Muntari, who had expressed his willingness.

Midfielders: A Ndre Ayew (Marseille, France), Christian Atsu (FC Porto, Portugal), Anthony Annan (Osasuna, Spain), Derek Boateng (Dnipro, Ukraine), Emmanuel Agyemang Badu (Udinese, Italy), Kwadwo Asamoah (Juventus, Italy), Albert Adomah (Bristol City, England), Rabiu Mohammed (Evian, France), Mubarak Wakaso (Espanyol, Spain)

Milan don’t have to worry about losing Sulley Muntari for the African Cup of Nations, but Ghana call Juventus and Udinese stars.

There were concerns that Muntari’s comeback six months after surgery would see him waltz off almost immediately for the tournament in January and February.

However, he is not included in the squad list for Ghana, so can act as a replacement for Nigel De Jong.

There are other Serie A players called up for Ghana, such as Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah and Udinese’s Emmanuel Agyemang Badu.

Sassuolo striker Richmond Boakye is also included.

Ugh, the African Cup of Nations. I understand the climate differences and all that, but is there really no way to play these tournaments during June-August in Africa and South America? It seems ridiculous.
