Barrera ffs.
Barrera
Not Messi, Ronaldo or even Giaccherini.
This scrub

Bailed out by Luiz, Silva and Alves on countless occasions last night. Best in the World my arse.

He is a completely brainless footballer. He has flair going forward and that's it.

Re: Marcelo: I consider myself the best full-back in the world
is this the same guy who is coming back from two long term injuries in the same season and is using confederations cup to get match fittnes for the new season
Edit: I didn't watch the game but Silva got a lower rating than him so surely he must have been worse.
Gil coming out of his closet the moment Luiz has a good game.

Re: Marcelo: I consider myself the best full-back in the world
hm2.... Silva was a beast and Marcelo was a horror show on defense. Good on the attack. But hopeless defending. Nothing new.
You know better than to trust those ridiculous rating systems.
If it wasn't for Luiz and Silva cleaning up in the middle on all the crosses and intercepting plays, Marcelo would not be smiling today.

Thing is Luiz got a good rating and so did Alves but Marcelo and Silva got really low. it must be for a reason

Probably because Silva played as the LCB alongside Marcelo with the latter dragging Silva down.

Re: Marcelo: I consider myself the best full-back in the world
then the blame is rightly on Silva because as a RCB you should not get dragged far to the left at all unless on counter against one player. Thats the problem Arbeloa has with us

Re: Marcelo: I consider myself the best full-back in the world
Marcelo is the most skilled fullback there is on the attack and there isn't even a question there. Basically a fullback with AM skills. That said, his form is not good right now and he's never been good defensively.
He's not a traditional fullback. He's not looking to center the ball or burn you with speed towards the sidelines. Marcelo looks to help flow and eliminate players via the dribble or the pass. He also likes to cut in the box when given the chance. That's his game. Nobody else plays fullback like he does offensively right now because nobody else has the skillset.
That said, Marcelo is playing fullback and needs to do the fundamental minimum required of his role before all the added offense... he's not doing that right now.
Just not all that good with his current form.

Its not Marcelo..... he's the most skilled but the most skilled =/= the best.
He's always been a defensive disaster and its nothing new.

Re: Marcelo: I consider myself the best full-back in the world
I don't think he'll get any better defensively honestly nor would he turn out to be a Junior (1982). That being said, he is the most skilled full back around now. Like Sport said, his ability to dribble past his marker and cutting inside makes his skill sets quite unique. It works for Real Madrid and sometimes for Brasil. They are better full backs around, more solid in both their offensive and defensive but I personally rate Marcelo highly.

Re: Marcelo: I consider myself the best full-back in the world
1-Why the hell are you guys paying attention to player rating?
2-Why the hell are you guys expecting Marcelo to have a great game at defense?Im not sure if you guys know this, but he CANT defend, he is played because he is amazing going forward. It seems like people keep hitting the same button over and over again, the guy is shit defensively, we all know that.No need to keep pointing it out every game.

Oh I thought only left backs... if we count right backs aswell then I would add Lahm and Piszczek.

Re: Marcelo: I consider myself the best full-back in the world
Alba, Alaba, Alves ? Please. He is by far the best wing-back going forward. One of the best dribblers in the world, good stamina, good passing, good shooting. Defensively he was and will always be weak, but still better than f*cking ALBA

both of them are inferior to Carvajal so Carvajal>>>>>>>> all. I love how you added Alba because you couldn't think of anyone else pls Baines is superior to him. Alaba isn't even close to Marcelo offensively not even from a mile away
