Scolari named new Brazil coach
Thoughts?
I wonder how our team will look like,I have a feeling he will go back to the 2002 3-4-1-2

Luis Felipe Scolari the new head coach of Brazil
Luiz Felipe Scolari is expected to be named as the new Brazil coach, returning to the national team 10 years after leading the country to the 2002 World Cup title.
The official announcement is expected to be made by Brazilian federation president Jose Maria Marin on Thursday.
Also Carlos Parreira to be announced as National Team Coordinator:
Marin said that a new national team coordinator will also be announced on Thursday, replacing director Andres Sanchez, who publicly said he was against Menezes' dismissal. Carlos Alberto Parreira, the coach when Brazil won the 1994 World Cup, was touted for that job.
Parreira also coached Brazil in the 2006 World Cup, when the team was eliminated by France in the quarterfinals.
Mario Zagallo was Brazil's national team coordinator in 1994 and 2006, and Zico was in the position in 1998. The post was eliminated for the 2010 World Cup, when Dunga was the coach.

Re: Scolari named new Brazil coach
I don't know that much to suggest anything , but it seems really outdated for Brazil to play this way
However , with players like Dede , D.Luiz , T.Silva , Marcelo , Dani Alves
it could work , given time

Aint had to merge in a while.
On topic, good appointment..didnt waste time and choose someone no nonsense with experience.
That 3412 would be nice even if a tad risky.
Luiz, TS, Dede/someone at centerback, Luiz playing that bring the ball forward role maybe.
Marcelo, Alves, Fernandinho and Ramires further forward?
Oscar, Neymar and Hulk/Leandro in the attack?

Good coach in past as brazil coach but that was one of the more legendary Brazilian teams. This team is still young it is interesting what he will do.

If 3 at the back can work full time as a system anywhere, I do believe its International football and especially South American International football.
Alot of the teams/coaches still seem somewhat romatic and open to attacking.

3412 too unbalanced for me. Id go with 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.

Lol @ adding Wellington.. not in a billion years.
Lucas as the destroyer DM and Paulinho as the Segundo Volante/Link CM. With Oscar, Moura and Neymar uptop. The top 3 is the only real mystery and our Volante.. Whether it be Luiz Gustavo, Lucas, or some unknown DM. Paulinho is the best Segundo Volante we have

I don't think anybody was a fan of Roque Junior.. and Edmilson was always a Volante more than a Zaguiero.

Re: Scolari named new Brazil coach
People saying this is a good appointment...
I really don't know. Personally I believe in the "don't hire the same coach for the second time" principle.
A big-name coach, but I would have gone for someone else.
Great pressure on him, but I hope he does well. Brazil have got many players in the national team set-up that deserve a good World Cup campaign in 2014.

How do you guys rate Dante, the Bayern Munich CB? I rarely ever watch the Bundesliga so I have no idea besides what I've read about him. David Luiz is wildly inconsistent but he might work as part of a three man backfield.

I read on wiki that Brazil weren't really favorites going into the 2002 wc. If he can win a WC with an unfavoured brazil twice,
Then
Then

Re: Scolari named new Brazil coach
Brazil were even less favorites in 1994.We say over here that we always lose when our team is hyped up like in 2006 with Ronaldinho,Kaka,Adriano,R9,Juninho,Ze Ronerto,RC,Lucio.Dida etc.
Im actually pretty happy on how low we are rated atm, I think we will surprise everyone in the Confederations and WC, mainly because of home advantage.
