Good catch. I was thinking of Jackson Martinez not James Rodriguez.Messiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:donttreadonred wrote:Why? This is just like the Lewandowski rumor... It doesn't make much sense. I could actually see Rodriguez going to United with Nani headed the other way.

to replace Rodriguez when United buy him in januaryAgain, why? You already have "Loic Remy" in your squad in Cisse. That role is covered.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:We need about 6 players is all i know.
Oh and according to the Mirror we are apparently going to sell Ba and replace him with Loic Remy...

If Pardew wants to revert to Pardiola and play the 4-3-3 (as he did until the first goal by Fulham), he doesn't need a starting XI striker. In that case you need a LW capable of goals. (Gutierrez isn't as good as a "forward" and Marveaux isn't quite the standard you need.)
If he wants to play to his security blanket (long-ball), he'll buy a strong, aerial forward as a target-man.
Any idea at what kind of figure Pardew will have to play with in January?
Remy is nothing like Cisse...

Remy is nothing like Cisse...
Just what i came on to say.....
Remy runs in behind and stretches defences, Remy attacks crosses aggressively, Remy is very fast and is a good dribbler....
Not to mention Remy made his name a winger who would score goals but can also play as the main vocal point too and he's also a much better SS than Ba or Cisse.
If we can do it then it makes perfect sense anyway as for how much money Pardew is that is really up for debate....
But considering we had offers for Luuk De Jong, Debuchy and various CB's rebuffed i'd imagine it's a decent amount.... if all those offers had been accepted we would have spent over 20m.
It's really a case of wait and see but apparently Pardew has been promised funds and he wants a CB, RB, Winger and CF.
I'll believe it when i see it but heres hoping

Rumors has it that the RB is Debuchy, the Winger is Tom Ince and the CF is Remy but no word on any names as far as CB goes yet.
But again until it happens we are likely to be filled with deception

AC Milan could be set to table a surprise bid for Pescara midfielder Vladimir Weiss, according to Gazzetta.it.
--------
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lucio can leave in January and Juventus are ready to sign one between Bocchetti and Peluso.
The first one is expiring deal with Rubin and let know to the Russian club to would like to come back home.
A trade about 4-5 million euros, with the defender at the top of market list. Same offer can arrive for Peluso of Atalanta.

Christian Eriksen:
In response to speculation linking him with a move to Camp Nou, the 20-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Who doesn’t dream of Barcelona?”
But Eriksen says he would also consider a move to another league, including the Premier League.
“I believe that my future will be in Spain, England, Italy or Germany,” he said.
“I like all these championships and I’ll see what chances I have.”

French money bags PSG are mulling over a £9.5million bid for Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna, according to reports in France.
The Ligue 1 club are in the market for a pair of full-backs during the January transfer window, and French daily L’Equipe report that Arsenal star Sagna is one of their top priorities.
Indeed, the newspaper suggests that PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti is ready to offer up to €12million (£9.5million) to land Sagna, who is currently struggling to agree terms with the Gunners over a new contract.

Vibe wrote:Remy is nothing like Cisse...
For Vibe and Mole
My apologies. My point was grossly, and impatiently, ill-defined.
I should have said you already have a quality CF and a quality RW in Cisse and Ben Arfa. I don’t see the need for Remy in those positions. I suppose Ben Arfa can move to the LW, but he’s been pretty ineffective every time I’ve seen him there. Likewise, Cisse is a waste of space anywhere besides CF. I’ve also never seen Remy play LW (granted it’s been a while since I could watch Marseille regularly). This could also be due to Andre Ayew’s stranglehold on the position. Assuming you want to play a more on-the-ground/pass-and-move style, LW is where you really need to strengthen.
Pardew seems to be tinkering with the 4-3-3 again, at least until things go bad. Against Fulham, it didn’t take too long before you saw the switch to 4-4-2 and the more direct style. If he’s going to go for that shorter passing style, your main concern shouldn’t be a striker; it should be a goal-scoring left-winger. Maybe that could be Remy, but I can’t remember seeing him on that side of the pitch in a while.
Now, would Remy be an upgrade to Cisse? In Cisse’s current form: undoubtedly. With both at their best: maybe… Would he be worth the expenditure when there are much more drastic needs? I say no, but you’re entitled to your opinion. Now, if Pardew decides to punt the 4-3-3 and stick with the English staple 4-4-2, then by all means, Remy is a brilliant buy. He and Cisse might just be able to strike up that partnership that we have yet to really see from Ba and Cisse.
For what it’s worth, I’m still not convinced anyone is going to buy Ba in January, which may change his mind about his contract demands.

With that said, there's no chance we're loaning/signing him.

I was just joking man. of course he's walk into our team in a heart beat. we're starting an 18 year old and a fullback as wingers ffs.

Tbh i actually think he's tailor made for the Premier League..He would just exploit all that space on offer..
I still consider him as a world class talent..Adjusting to Barcelona's philosophy and style is not easy at all.Look at Fabregas for example but he's still considered a WC player by many.
That being said ,i really hope Marotta rescues him from Barca.

Re: January Transfer Rumours
Santos have made a formal offer for AC Milan forward Robinho and expect to learn whether it has been successful in the coming days.
Milan have denied that they are looking to sell Robinho, 28, but are reported to be willing to part with the player for a fee of €10 million.
Santos are seemingly hopeful of securing him for a reduced fee, and there have been suggestions that midfielder Felipe Anderson could be included in a part-exchange deal.
Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro, while accepting that negotiations will be difficult, is convinced that Robinho would relish the chance to return to the club at which he began his professional career.
“Robinho has a clear desire to return to Brazil - and returning to Brazil, for him, means returning to Santos,” Ribeiro said in an interview with O Povo. “We have sent a written offer.
“There is a difference between our offer and what the player and the club are asking for, but I think it’s possible to get it sorted out. It won’t be easy, but the outcome of the negotiations should be known in the next week.”

Definitely but that's not even half the story it's got to the stage now where i prefer Perch and Bigirimana to Tiote now

At least they can pass sideways up to 2 yards and not give it away

If Chelsea are stupid enough to even pay 10m i'd snap their hands off and get Diame or Moussa Sissoko in.

Manchester City are apparently considering making a €20m move for Real Betis’ midfielder Benat Etxebarria.
The 25-year-old is reported by AS on Wednesday as being targeted by the English champions for a move in one of the coming transfer windows.
Man City need a CM playmaker. I think this would be a good move.

None of them are really pure CM playmakers. Barry's usually deep, Yaya's a B2B, Rodwell is a.. DM/B2B I think and Javi Garcia is a DM.
It's similar to the situation Real Madrid were in until we got Modric.

But only Yaya of those is good enough for City tbh, they should offload the rest. Benat would be a step up. Also the kind of midfielder Pep would like when he gets there. Imagine City trying to convince him to come with that midfield? Lol.The Franchise wrote:Yaya, Barry, Rodwell and Javi Garcia.
