Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
Thoughts? Nothing is official, but apparently Verdi will become a player of Torino on co-ownership. I could see a certain Italian-Nigerian center back coming in the other direction, Ogbonna. Seems like good business for us. Verdi has a chance to play first team football, and we can sure up the back line with Ogbonna. Thoughts? Feelings?

Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
What's Ogbonna gonna do? For cb, we already have nesta, silva, and capable backups in yepes and mexes, so he won't get any playing time there. As for LB, we have Taiwo, and if he flops, antoniin. Ogbonna's not gonna force any of these two out. He is unneeded. Verdi to Torino is a good deal though.

Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
Well the report (the one I assume MTD is reading) said that Yepes and Nesta are on their last legs.
You know, which is true.
And Ogbonna is under Italian-citizenship so he's not taking up an EU spot.
This will be a good bit of business (providing we get Verdi back)

Yepes and Nesta may not play as much... but I'm not convinced by Ogbonna at all. He's far from a convincing defender... I remember that Voakes guy on Goal.com recommended him. None of his recommendations happened, and were convincing.
And of course Ogbonna has Italian citizenship... he was born in Italy. And he's only Nigerian descent.

Finally, I was waiting for him to be loaned ! Verdi is a fantastic prospect. Good that Baretta got loaned to Genoa and now Verdi. Verdi will gain more experience and playing time as he needs it in the senior level rather than Primavera experience.
Great goal against Palermo, I expect great potential from him.

He needs to bulk up or he'll just be another Davide Di Gennaro... potential and that's all.

This could be a good deal. Ongbonna is one of the most promising Italian defenders right now and Verdi can get playing time and experience in Torino. I just hope that we don't end up completely losing Verdi, he is our Primavera's brightest prospect. Ongbonna can play as a CB and LB, he can be backup to Taiwo but his best position is in CB. Getting him would be smart. Nesta and Yepes are both 34+ and Mexes is coming back from a serious injury. Would be great to have a younger alternative who can be future starter at the future

Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
I hope this deal eventuates to allow Verdi the space and time he needs, though I'm not sure it would involve Ogbonna heading the other way. Ogbonna wouldn't be able to get much time unless he made an early impact on Allegri whilst our centre-backs are injured or away in pre-season, though it would be nice to have a defender who can cover the centre and fullback. He needs a lot of work however that's what Tassoti is for; you never know until you give them the chance. I won't be disappointed if we don't grab him, however given that he wants to leave Torino we may as well look into him if he's cheap.

Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
Torino have said they will not settle for less than 20m for Ogbonna. If we sent Verdi the other way, Torino would expect cash in the deal. The deal would cost a lot more than Astori who we gave up on. I don't see this happening at all.
Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
We've already sent them two players. Torino is in the Serie B... I don't think they are in a position to demand 20 million. But I just hope we don't push the deal because Ogbonna isn't worth 20 mil. That's a crazy figure.

Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
We have sent them THREE players, we better be getting Ogbonna. He isn't worth 20 mil either. He is a great talent, but is still young, at the very most he is 10mil

Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
10mil is too much I reckon
Torino finished 8th in Serie B
I'm sure Ogbonna can become a fine player in years to come. But that doesnt mean we have to pay 10mil-20mil for a player whose team came nowhere near promotion.
Permanently selling Coppola and Odumadi (plus loaning/co-owning Verdi) should give Milan very favorable negotiations

Ya I don't see Odu breaking into our squad any time soon, I figure he will turn out like Victor Obinna from Inter, promising youngster, but just didn't have what it took to stay at Inter.

Odu showed some promise in last year's friendly against varese but have been completely awful ever since.
I hope we sell him outright cos I don't see him making the cut into our squad any time soon

I don't want Ogbonna turning into a sideshow which wastes money. Torino can find other suitors if they're not willing to be very reasonable.

I've followed ogbonna for quite a while and i think he is quite decent to at least be a back up at milan
the only problem right now is definitely the price but it surely can be negotiated

Not every one of them can make the cut, hence, the loans and co ownership deals

I don't rate Odumandi at all, he should be sold outright to Torino. And there is no way Torino will want 20 million for Ogbonna., maximum 1-12 million he will cost us.

AC Milan chasing Torino's Angelo Ogbonna - report
The highly-rated young centre-back is reportedly in the sights of the Italian champions as they look to boost their defensive ranks
Torino centre-back Angelo Ogbonna has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A title holders AC Milan, Tuttosport reports.
With Alessandro Nesta and Mario Yepes both reaching the end of their careers, the Rossoneri will be left short-staffed at the heart of defence, and they see Ogbonna as the man to provide cover for Thiago Silva and Philippe Mexes.
Ogbonna, 23, who is of Nigerian descent, represented the Italy U-21 side 10 times and was a part of Cesare Prandelli's full squad for the matches against Estonia and Republic of Ireland earlier this month, but has not yet made an appearance for the Azzurri.
Since making his professional for his hometown club in 2006, Ogbonna has made 88 appearances for the Granata, with 66 of those coming in Serie B since the side's relegation from the top flight in 2009.

Re: Apparently Verdi will be co-owned by Torino
Oh and by the way coownership of Verdi with Torino has been confirmed.
SIMONE VERDI, Ferdinando Coppola and Nnamdi Oduamadi are now Torino players.
Serie B side Torino F.C. have announced on the signings of three AC Milan players: Simone Verdi (18), Ferdinando Coppola (33) and Nnamdi Oduamadi (20) through their official website last night.
Verdi has played a big role in Milan’s Primavera team in the past years, earning himself the nickname “Verdinho”, for his Brazilian style of player. He was also given chances in the first team during pre-season.
“Torino Football Club announces that it has acquired on co-ownership basis AC Milan player Simone Verdi,” a statements on the Toro’s official site reads. But Milan also take one of Torino’s players.
“Torino has also sold to AC Milan, on co-ownership, player Gianmario Comi,” the statement continues. Comi is a 19-year-old center forward (height – 1.87m) who has played for Torino’s Primavera lately.
After a loan spell at Siena in which he protected the goal of Siena for 40 games, Coppola returned to Milan, and now he’s set to leave again, on loan, to Turin. A statement regarding this player states:
“Torino F.C announces that it has acquired on a temporary basis from Milan the player Ferdinando Coppola.”
Odu was given a few chances during last year’s pre-season and even had his Milan debut under Coach Massimiliano Allegri but eventually returned to the Primavera squad. Now he goes to try his luck in Serie B.
“Torino Football Club announces that it has acquired on a temporary basis with an option for a co-ownership agreement player Nnamdi Oduamadi from AC Milan.” The Nigerian is a forward.
