Report: Mehdi Benatia on verge of Juventus move

Udinese defender Mehdi Benatia is reportedly close to agreeing a January move to Juventus.

The 25-year-old has also been linked with interest from Chelsea and Barcelona in recent weeks.

However, according to talkSPORT, Benatia has held talks with Juventus officials, who are said to be willing to meet Udinese's asking price of £15m.

Benatia has been capped 20 times by Morocco at senior international level.

I don't know this guy but £15m sounds unrealistic

He was brilliant last season,this season i dont follow him but he is good defender good rotation for Barzagli but 15 mil is too much for defender .

I know last season he was great, not followed Udinese this season but yeah 10 Million sounds more like it. Knowing Marotta it will be paid over 3 years so 5M per year for 3 years for a defender who could potentially be with us for 10 years and over is not too bad.

I doubt this will happen. Our backline is not really a problem area for us right now and Marotta already said that we won't be spending a lot of money. If we spend any money like that in January, it's going to be on a forward. We are tied for the least amount of goals allowed in Serie A and lead our group in UCL. Defense is not a priority unless it is signing a prospect and this guy is 25 already.

With Marotta, I have learned not to be believe any rumors or leaks from Juventus. I guess we'll see in January. Unless there is an injury and we qualify for the UCL knockouts, I expect January to be a quiet transfer window for Juve.
