I don't know how I feel about this.

Seems we're going hard for him, and Conte wants a ball playing CB, but I can't help but feel he won't solve any issues we have.

how was he in his last year at PSG? I've noticed he's left behind the rash decisions that plagued him at Chelsea, no longer seems like a headless chicken, wondering if it's down to Conte or if he just matured while at PSG since I didn't watch him much

Absolutely not the best CB in the world, he is just made for the middle role in Conte's 3-5-2. It hides his ineptitude in defense and exploits his passing.

Its like what happened with young Bonucci, he was making ridiculous mistakes every other game but had beastly skills on the ball, then Conte put him in the 3-5-2 and he exploded.

Luiz hasn't put a foot wrong, although what you say is certainly a huge factor he looks very good defensively too

They're not even playing in Europe so he can fly under the radar with wins against the Stokes of this world.

In big games they actually look very vulnerable quite often. City tore them apart time and time again, from what I've heard even Flopp's Pool were the better team even in midst their form crisis.

They aren't actually that great defensively. Conte is a provincial manager, even got tactically beaten by Löw.

Clearly seeing 6th over and over again has caused Firenze real mental anguish where he decided that Luiz is the best CB in the world. Not a single European competition but the best CB in the world.

Being an integral part of the defense that has ushered its side 9 points clear at the top of one of Europe's Top 3 leagues over the course of 6+ months is less legitimate or credit-worthy due to lack of having played 6 games against the Celtics, Dynamo Kievs and CSKA Moscows of the world. Or something. Then again Hans taking the 'unexpected' view on a topic is one of the most reliably expected things on this forum.

Apparently Conte persuaded Luiz to return by saying, you're one of the best in the world, join me and you will be the best. Looks like he has done it, too.

Arsenal isn't exactly a club that breaks its wage structure ; they would have convinced Ramsey otherwise

Think its more of a Luiz wanting a change with guaranteed regular spot in Arsenal than in Chelsea
