Real Madrid and Barcelona are owned by their members. Can't buy those clubs.

its Malaga ffs, its written in the stars with the trouble they have atm
At Atleti they like to be like the big two aka non-owned, Creszero has said it before he doesn't want Atleti to be private owned instead a club run freely

I'm with Mole on this one,SuperDepor FFS
Loved that club since the Tristan - Makaay combo...Even though Irruretta insisted on a 1 striker most of the time. Also Djalminha Valeron

There is new article in marca saying he will go for Getafe, and if that does not work out, he will try to buy Real Sociedad.

I don't want super inflationary , pointless investment. Sensible investment (or even not at all , as it is currently) is better than that.

It should be Athletico get them to actually compete against Madrid then we would have a proper Madrid derby. Valencia would also be nice because they are always competitive and have some great players. Athletico is more marketable and the city is bigger. The Madrid faithful will remain loyal but there are lots of bandwagoners outside of Spain that will switch across town if things were to get better.

Reports today were that major proprietor of Getafe, Angelo Torres, has not even been approached by Slim about the purchase of Getafe...
Looks like all hype for now.

Could be anyone, isn't Slim the 3rd richest person in the world? I don't think he would care about whether the club was profitable or if it had a long-term future. Probably just a plaything for him. I could be wrong though, he might actually be passionate about a particular club.

Richest man in the world.
Like other have said Valencia and A.Madrid would be the best choice, because of marketing potential.

I agree with Deportivo. That would be awesome, to see them up there challenging the top teams again.

I thought Bill Gates and Warren Buffett had more money. Although they do give quite a lot of $ away to charity.Blue wrote:Forza Rossoneri wrote:Could be anyone, isn't Slim the 3rd richest person in the world? Re: Carlos Slim ready to invest big in a Spanish club
The financially stricken Spanish club Real Oviedo announced Saturday that the Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim Helú had agreed to invest $2.5 million in the third-tier team, which faced bankruptcy before a huge fund-raising effort by fans.
Slim decided to become the new majority shareholder because of Oviedo’s “history in Spanish professional football and above all for the extraordinary support of its fans.”
