Is Christian Abbiati an underrated goalkeeper?

Was watching Zenit vs Milan and he made a fantastic save to keep it 2-3 for Milan and it made me think how underrated this man is. I think he always was underrated in goalkeeping lists when he's one of the best out there.

How do you rate him? Underrated, overrated, rated fine?

Rated just fine.Cant do well on corners and is terrible at PKs.Great game from him though.

when he's on his game he is a really great keeper. unfortunately, he is not always on his game. with that said, i think he is, generally, pretty solid

very under rated, its very sad to see how some of our fans aren't appreciating his efforts, some complain that he has been a bit out of form this season, but I beg to differ he has been our best player this season so far maybe along side SES.

He pulls of world class saves many times during a season and has insane reflexes, specially for a man that heavy. still, what makes him different to the likes of Buffon is the errors once in a while on corners etc. however, he is a player that has saved us countless times without it getting much recognition, probably cause he doesnt look like a cute little justin beaver.

Overrated in my humble opinion. Just because he's had a good game (excellent by his standards) today does not make him an above average gk.

Diida was the last good gk for AC Milan...

he was excellent today. but no i dont think hes underrated.

No, I think hes rated just about right tbh.

reading this thread, i think the better question would be "how do people here rate abbiati?" because it seems to be all over the place when you ask underrated or not. for me i dont feel he has gotten the praise he deserves, so i think he is underrated, he can lose focus sometimes, eg on long shots, but overall hes a very trustworthy goalkeeper. if it werent for dida, he wouldve been a great for ac milan imo.

EDIT: for whoever said hes overrated... no one in this forum other than milan and some serie a fans ever mention him... so i got a little confused there.

Top 10 IMHO, second only to Buffon in Serie A, he always saves our asses in big games; See Barca and Arsenal performances!
