I didnt say injured, I said physically not right. I find it hard to belive it was simply that challange where he lost the ball that injured him so bad....he barely got touched.

I agree with those that claim that Alves was not 100% upon starting. That being said, perhaps Montoya should've started as he did well in the last clasico he played.

Cesc is a mix bag. Very inconsistent and sometimes he has more bad games than great games which is not great to see for a play marked at 29m... He was terrible against Madrid. Messi and Iniesta came into the middle and Fabregas did not cover the space those two players lost. He was nowhere... Every time he was asking for the ball, he was not in the right position. Never gave an option for Xavi, iniesta and Messi. Made some decent runs but did not create any danger.

I think he played alright. Yes, he didn't offer himself available and was generally anonymous in attack. On the bright side he worked extremely hard to recover possession/defend. Poor decision making at vital moments though.

But you should have expected that when you signed him to be honest.

How is Fabregas a mixed bag? That would imply that he has good performances like 1/2 the time. He's more like a ripped up bag with a bunch of holes in it, but very occasionally does well.

Dani's been poor but he should still start every game he's fit IMO. He has such a big role in this team, might just be a rough patch. Keep with him and he'll be fine, he always is. One of our most consistent performers over the years, I don't expect any decline out of the physically fit beast that is Dani Alves.
