Justice League Vs Avengers

Or which team is better?




I personally prefer the Justice League.


Also, with the success the Avengers movie had, do you think a Justice League movie is inevitable?

Entertainment is the right section, given that comics, movies, and cartoons are all entertainment media.



Honestly, when the crossover was done the Justice League won, but barely. Further, DC's heroes tend to be stronger than Marvel's, just as a matter of scaling... especially if you go with the heroes at their peak powers... Superman, The Flash, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern are all insanely OP at certain points in their canon.



As for movies... DC are pushing ahead with plans for a Justice League movie, but for it to have any chance of success they'll need to set up a base before hand like Marvel did. That means either a reboot or a much, MUCH better sequel to GL, a new Batman since Nolan refused to allow his to be in a shared universe, and they better hope to hell that the new Superman does well (assuming it's allowed to be in a shared universe).

So basically if Nolan doesn't agree to share, DC are going to use someone other than Bale(and a different storyline) AND make another movie as a sequel just so it fits the bigger picture? I thought Nolan had to get some sort of permission or copyright from DC before producing the DK movies in the first place? Batman is a DC character afterall.

Hopefully this Man of Steel movie does well. It already looks more appealing than that horrid reboot they did a couple of years back.

I do think the Marvel characters make more interesting stories individually than DC characters though.

Smallville Justice League

Would have been good to use Tom Welling as Superman though.

Justice League looks stronger to me IMO, but that's just a personal opinion and I don't have any comic book knowledge at all really.

Hawkman, Doctor Fate(although he died rather quickly; killed by Icycle) and Stargirl joined JL(Clark and his friends) since the rest of the JSA members had been killed.

Basically:

Justice League - Superman(leader), Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Black Canary. Those are the main members. There are a lot more though.

Avengers - Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Black Widow are the main members. I think basically all Marvel characters except maybe Spiderman(not sure) joined the Avengers at one point or the other.

Green Arrow Vs Hawkeye

There are about 5 members that are on just about every iteration of the Justice League: Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman (the DC "trinity"), Green Lantern, and The Flash. Martian Manhunter and Aquaman tend to be there as well in most cases. Beyond that the rest of the team tends to rotate.

Thing is, I can't really single out any member of the Avengers who could possibly handle Superman. Hulk maybe?

Hulk has the strength to potentially match Superman, assuming he gets angry enough, but given that Superman also has a myriad of other powers as well as a genius level intellect, you'd have to assume he'd find a way to blindside Hulk and take him out of commission (launching him into the depths of space or the sun or some such).



Thor could potentially match up with Superman, though. I think in the crossover they did Superman just barely beat Thor in what was basically a war of attrition.

Side note: Think Thing would be able to match Hulk? Me thinks not


I don't see how Thor could match up with Superman. All he has is his hammer, which is really his strength but I doubt that would be nearly enough against Superman. Superman just has too many abilities. He's basically a god compared to the other characters. The only person in both DC & Marvel combined that has anything even remotely close to the amount of abilities Superman has is Martian Manhunter imo. Poor man's Superman without steel.

Thor is a god though, complete with the god level strength, endurance, and durability.

For me the Justice League wins.

But if it was Marvel v DC, Marvel would prob take it hands down.

Back on topic, I think that comic only proves that Thor can withstand Superman's powers more than a lot of other characters. Doesn't mean he can hurt Superman that much.

Again, it really depends on how you're looking at the characters. I mean, at their peaks any one of Kyle Rayner, Hal Jordan, Superman, Flash, Wanda, Sentry, Jean Gray, and any number of villains can basically end the universe and create new ones. Power levels fluctuate so much in comics it's hard to ever get a clear guess.

it definitely depends on the rosters.
there are tons of non A-lister heroes in the avengers that are considerable powerhouses and could challenge every DC character. As for the well known ones, everyone who has read at least some Thor comics, he knows he is well equiped to take on superman. Adding the latters magic vulnerability, makes it even more evident. overall the JLA/Avengers crossover was badly written IMO
