Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
If we do sell Nasri <I really don't want this to happen, for the record, since we are surely becoming a "selling" club then!>, signing Mata would make a telling statement of intent and shut up half these papers and the doubters.
What would be better? Nasri signs a new contract and Mata also signs for us. However, this is highly unlikely. Doubt AW will pursue Mata if Nasri decided to stay. This might work if Arshavin/Rosicky are leaving, but chances are slim for that. They are both definitely staying.
RW - Walcott, Gervinho
CF - RvP, Chamakh, Vela, <Walcott>, <Bendy>
LW - Nasri, Arshavin, <Mata>, <Rosicky>
Mid - Song + Wilshere + Fabregas, Ramsey, Diaby, Rosicky, <Nasri>, <Denilson>, Frimpong/Lansbury/Bartley/Coquelin
Definitely see enough quality to win titles there. Consistency and mentality, however, are not based on technical quality..

Well with Valencia signing a winger in pablo piatti (Remember the FM Legend) mata could well be good for 18-21mill and is surely worth it

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
it can be confirmed that Arsenal have bid for mata and have hit his buyout clause of 25m euros
along with tottenham and Liverpool
it will be up to mata to decide what he wants to do and where he wants to go. Most likely it will be either liverpool or Arsenal.
However valencia can end this by offering him a pay rise instead

it appears arsenal have bid 27mil pounds for benzema. i would love if he comes to arsenal. fingers crossed.
it is a possibility because neymar is close to joining madrid so benzema would be a surplus to the requirements.

I want Cesc to stay one more year, I don't really care much about Nasri. Replacing Nasri is not that hard, and it could turn out to be a good thing for us.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Valencia is direct attacking team follows a similar Tottenham Spurs model, the one which places alot of reliance on the wingers.
I am a very very big fan of 4-4-2 model, if benzema and mata rumors are true and we do sign them. its safe to say arsenal might actually win something.
It may also suggest wenger is planning to change the beloved 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation.

i agree with this keeping hold of cesc is vital for arsenal. Nasri had half a decent season and getting 25mil would be a good deal for him. BUT BUT BUT this money must be spent.

Well he is probably doing what cesc is doing to us , being loyal to his club

I havent seen any credible source saying we have met his buy-out clause. All i have seen is Valencia President saying Mata will stay this season. Also the buy-out clause value is different for clubs outside from Spain. So why would anyone met his clause value.Am i missing something.

Fair enough i just saw this rumor that we have met his buy-out clause in twitter and here someone said it is confirmed so thought whether any news channel had said it as breaking news.Anyway Valencia president has just said today Mata is not for sale so probably the buy-out clause rumors about us are probably BS.

Most of the Mata stuff is coming out of Spain. Reports saying us, Liverpool and Spurs (lol) have met the release clause blah blah blah. It's probably far from trustworthy, and I'm willing to bet nothing will materialise and Mata will stay as a Valencia player.

Graham Hunter claimed this morning that two EPL clubs have bidded for Juan Mata, with one of them likely to be Arsenal. He's isn't the most reliable, but I find he's better than the tabloids etc. Don't know why SSN haven't put it up yet.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Looked on Arsenal Mania there as well, and someone posted something pretty interesting that pretty much negates the Valencia president's word.
"JamieDalton82 Jamie Dalton
14th May 2010 - Valencia president Llorente tells Marca that there is no agreement with Barcelona for David Villa and is unlikely to be one"
"JamieDalton82 Jamie Dalton
19th May 2010 - David Villa signs for Barcelona for £34.2m."
So don't believe anything from both camps, and wait to see if anything materialises.

Re: The 2011 Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
By the way, Graham Hunter is the same man who said Fabregas will go on strike and join Barcelona last week, and is the same man saying Madrid will make a £50,000,000 bid which, well, never happened.
He's not a trustworthy source.

Is there any proof of Gervinho being in London yesterday?

Gervinho medical has been completed. The only thing holding up the deal were bonuses. That's been sorted out now, according to Canal+.
So now we're just waiting on an announcement, which will be probably be tomorrow.

@YoungGunsBlog: The Mata release clause is because of Spanish law. It's not applicable in countries outside of Spain.
