I'm still not relaxing, but I feel more confident now that the BBC are also running the story.

Nasri is not yet considered a front–line target by Chelsea's new manager, André Villas-Boas – who intends to scrutinise his squad when the players return to pre-season training next week – with the club having targeted Modric as their preferred creative midfield recruit. An opening bid of about £22m has been rejected by Spurs, and the Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, who will meet Modric's representatives next week, has made clear his objections to the prospect of losing the Croatia international. Should that pursuit continue to be blocked, Chelsea will switch their attentions more concertedly towards Nasri.

The Frenchman is apparently undecided as to where his future lies, but is well aware that personal terms will be more lucrative at United and Chelsea. There is an acceptance, too, at Arsenal, who had hoped to tie the player down to a new five-year contract worth £90,000 a week, that they cannot compete financially with the midfielder's other suitors. Arsenal's position is further complicated by the possibility that Manchester City may enter the fray later in the summer, particularly if they fail to secure Udinese's highly-rated Chilean winger Alexis Sánchez.

I'm sure Gil would be happy with that signing.

Naturally, I'd rather he didn't go to Chelsea but I can't help but entertain the thought of a cash + Sturridge swap for him.

This quote has been circulating around today in various forums, twitter etc., however I don't think it's real because I can't find the quotes anywhere(as in searching google and stuff, there's not much mentioned). Could be some made up BS, so don't fret yet, but I thought it would be interesting to post.

those are BS quotes, not true at all.

about nasri, he hasnt spoken with wenger at all, and wenger is waiting for him to return from holidays

so next week is crucial

Honestly? It wouldn't surprise me if van Persie did say something like that, though it would hurt to hear it from such a loyal and loved player.

But, I'm thinking they were taken out of context as well.

Apparently, should join City for pre-season training by Tuesday, which would mean the deal will be finalized on Monday. Hope it's BS, but who knows at this moment in time

Lets hope that goes well.. I am not for the idea of us buying young players and developing them, if they don't show loyalty in return.. It sets a bad precedent.. Cesc to Barca saga is bad enough..

@JamieSanderson: El Mundo say Barça offered £34m for Cesc, but only £29m cash, because they believe Arsenal owe them £6m for Toral + Bellerín.

We paid 750,000 euros for Toral and Bellerín. For everyone's sake I hope this isn't true, because if it is, it's a pretty bad reflection on Barcelona.

they do it because A.wenger never buy players which they link us with. Only at a very late stage they get the news. So they r pissed off at arsene. :p other clubs buy most of players which media links them with.
