What is all this nonsense I'm hearing. Barca were a game away from reclaiming the CL again last year!! They won all the other cups they contested in. Messi pulled barca from a 9 point gap to only 1 before the last league classico!! What is it with fans nowadays, football is a sport , you win some, you lose some.

Messi' s workrate is still well above average for someone of his profile and importance to a club. It seems to me his haters are clutching at straws here.

Give the guy a break, last year he basically did the job of 3 striker on his own upfront!! This year pedro and alexis should be the ones pressing like mad so that Messi can save his energy for the most importance parts of the game.

If you think Messi's pressing was the only reason Barca won all those titles, then you must be on something strong!!

If Messi is in decline then all the other top players are too, so its just gonna balance itself out.

I dont know what people are judging him on, because I think this is Messi's best ever start to a season-
7 goals in 6 games!!! He could be in double figures already come Saturday ffs!!!

Spoilt little fans!!!! Mad

Whatever Messi does Madrid fans will always bring him down, making excuses, ignoring the fact he is the best in the world. Who cares if they acknowledge him. Think about it 50 years from now nobody will remember any of us from this forum, we wont exist in history but messi will be talked about forever!!

If messi is on a decline then what is ronaldo? A scrub that should play for the likes of bottom league dwellers? If you use the madrid logic that is!

Dumb thread and  fanboys but o well this is GL.

I'm pretty sure barca didn't want to end the season 18 points behind Madrid,

so winning clearly mattered until the very last day.

People complaining about the decrease in Messi's magic don't watch him often enough. They remember fondly when Messi would try to dribble past 6 players and then score, his Maradonian moments. He's a much more superior player now. The Messi we have now chooses his dribbles more carefully. He has the best or second best final passing in the world. He might have the same vision as before, but he knows how to utilize it better, and thus he makes those that play around him play better. He still has magical moments where he dribbles past 4 players then scores with a perfect finesse from his left leg, but frankly I find his defense-splitting passes that go through as many players just as magical. He's a more effective player now, more evolved. And on top of that, he's now incorporating FKs frequently into his game. This decline talk is bullshit.

It's curious that so many people chose to claim that Messi is in decline when he's at this best moment with the NT. With 9 goals in 5 games, how do some of you even justify the amount of gibberish coming out of your mouths?

well, they didn't look like they wanted something out of the games other than increasing Missi's tally

2? Messi has been underperforming for a month, at least. He needs a real coach.
