I saw the full match Finland vs France.

Diaby was a monster. Went in for a crunching tackle in the second half (one of those 50/50's)...won it but stayed down for a few seconds.

I nearly messed my trousers. Thankfully, he got up and charged about the place in no time Smile

What is it with Welbeck btw? He looked awful against one of the worst sides I've ever seen. He made Theo look brilliant.

Welbeck didn't even play that much. He probably didn't even bother exerting himself so much, given we were winning very comfortably.

Walcott has pulled out the England squad through "illness", by the way.

Chamberlain disappointed tonight. Did his usual schtick of disappearing against good defenders.

Yeah he got booed when he came off. The problem is that he's losing his duels to hold the ball. Cthat's imexcusable given the type of player he is. Che needs to become falliani-like.

im starting to get very worried about giroud, we might have huge problems scoring goals this season if he doesn't start firing. please don't tell me he is just a one season wonder.

Giroud was booed?

He MUST score against Southampton or Montpellier.

Will update the whole arsenal-internationals list in the morning.

Giroud wasnt that bad link up was very good, just got back from injury and could occupy center back(s) if midfield runners were better/more effective(Diaby was available Razz ) esp in first half that could be different
he is big man but his game is about to bring others to the game he won 70% Aerial duels last season mainly providing his team mates with chances with knock downs or even helping out defensively

overall as a france fan i prefer Benz up top and linking with Ribery is joy to watch, but one midfield having license to get in advanced position like vs finland

Giroud will come good his expression after that header was saved showed he is under so much pressure
1st goal will ease him off

He needs a bit more games under his belt, and needs to show he can give Sagna a run for his money at RB.

While England have got great options at fullback, especially at RB, none have the tenacity and defensive qualities Jenkinson possesses.

Johnson,Walker,Clyne are more than decent when England need something else from the flanks, but the only one who gives a vibe of being a responsible defender apart from Jenkinson is Kelly, who imho should be deployed as a CB instead.

If he continues his recent form, there's no reason not to call him up.
Plus, Woy loves players who play with grit and steel and are Scandinavian. :coffee:

Jenkinson did come under consideration from Hodgson but they decided it was a bit too soon for him to receive a call up, especially given we have Johnson and Walker already.

While he can play for Finland, he won't play for him so long as a chance of playing for England exists.
