Re: Being Liverpool
Not sure if it's been posted, but for those that haven't seen the show it's free on iTunes until the end of the week.
This show is going to be great for LFC should the rest of the series go as well as the first episode. I hate the Pool as much as anybody, but I was totally enthralled with the show.
Hope it's like Hard Knocks and they follow a new EPL team every year.

It's not like Hard Knocks and they will not be following a new team every year. Our management is paying for this show Maybe it'll give other teams ideas to do the same but I'm not sure on that.

Re: Being Liverpool
Really? I didn't think this was our owner's project. I thought this was Fox Soccer's and I thought they were planning for a Being Chelsea and a Being Manchester City in the future.Messiah "Aggerswagger" wrote:Motogp69 wrote:Not sure if it's been posted, but for those that haven't seen the show it's free on iTunes until the end of the week.

(It appears the Guardian agrees with me.)
In any case, I loved the first episode. The feel, the atmosphere, the perspective... it's all spot on. And Brendan Rodgers... Where to start with him? If there were ever a coach that was perfect for this series at this point in time, it is him. I know it's comparing apples to oranges, but look at the scene with Bobby Valentine. Rodgers goes in wanting to have a deep conversation as sportsman to sportsman. Bobby V wants to treat it like he visiting a kid who doesn't understand what he does in his day job. Nothing is more uncomfortable than the scene just following it when Bobby V insists that "the real athletes" have to go warm up because they do real work... The man is an enormous tool, and the gulf in class between him and Rodgers has never been more apparent. (The Red Sox will do well to fire him in favor of the bat boy in the offseason...)
I may be in the minority, but I actually believe this series could do wonders in easing this difficult period for Liverpool supporters. Where we would normally see only the results on the pitch without knowing too much of the behind the scenes material, we now see everything. We see the vision for the club, what we are trying to do on and off the pitch, and the type of leadership change we are implementing. Maybe this series can convince Liverpool supporters that Rodgers and his style/philosophy can lead Liverpool forward, and eventually help the club out of these trying times.
If nothing else, it is compelling viewing.

I had no idea Treadyreddy, but I'll take your word for it over my own And you described that moment with Bobby Valentine perfectly, what a tool bag.

Re: Being Liverpool
Just watched the second episode I love Clive OWEN This one was all about the US Tour. The next one should be very fun as the lads are returning back to Merseyside.
My favorite part was that hallway where Gerrard, Borini, Henderson, Kelly, Carroll, Johnson, and Downing just arrived. Everything about that little scene oozes greatness.

Anyone else think this show has the potential to land BR jobs for the rest of his life? Second episode was as good as the first, really looking forward to the rest of the season.

Re: Being Liverpool
I only caught the last 15 minutes of the third episode on TV and I was not extremely pleased. There seems to be a good amount of focus on the owners and Ian Ayre. The preview for the next episode mentioned Borini trying to find a house. I wish there was more focus on the players as far as the club is concerned.

Re: Being Liverpool
There was a fair bit on spearing, assadi's medical, the south American trio.Ayre had a bit of his 5 minutes of fame, but it wasn't that much, tbh its about the whole club not just the players, but i get what your saying.

Re: Being Liverpool
Would be better if they followed the enitre season, but I guess that would leave to many things up to chance of not having a happy ending. However, the documentary on Gerrard didn't really have a happy ending and it was some of the best soccer television I have ever seen.
