Hoofing
Is anyone else annoyed by the amount of hoof ball attempts by Cech and our CBs. Seriously wtf they still think Drogba is on the team. It only results losing possession and makes it difficult to start attacks.

Re: Hoofing
I hate to sound like a broken record, but we are still in a transitional phase. You don't go from being a physical, rough-and-tumble, defensive, 'target-man-do-all-the-work' team to a slighter, more technical, free-flowing, attacking one in 3 matches. The transition to the kind of style everyone at the club seems to be aiming for will take awhile, especially for and with our older players who have played a certain way for a long, long time.
It's Robbie's job to get everyone in the team on the same page, with the same philosophies and ways of playing the game. And as long as he's given the time, patience, and support from fans and hierarchy alike, I have no doubt he'll do it.

Re: Hoofing
Bit of everything said so far I think. In one of our matches(I forget which one). Cech's long ball when accurate was extremely good for starting a counter. But that said it doesn't always work, only really when their fullback has pushed too far up to contest. The endless crossing of Ivan and long balls has become tedious at points though, surely it is just a logic thing though, no big man in the middle don't cross. Low driven crosses are so much more effective and any nick/deflection can put the ball into the goal.

Re: Hoofing
Glad I'm not the only one.
A hoof ball is almost guaranteed to lose possession so why do that if we aren't under any pressure?
