The Arsenal Dream Team
Arsenal official website is doing the usual summer round up with a all-time best XI. This is how it reads as of now:
--------------------------David Seaman--------------------------
Lee Dixon-----Sol Campbell-------Tony Adams-----Nigel Winterburn
Ljunberg--------Liam Brady----------Patrick Viera------------Pires
------------------Bergkamp----------Henry----------------------
Since we have been looking for some other topics to keep us going, thought we could talk about how a team of these players, all at their peaks, would fare against the current teams in the PL and CL..
Fans of other clubs can also compile their all time XI and maybe we could see how much better our best were against the others too..

Re: The Arsenal Dream Team
love how 70% of the team is always the invincibles.
In 10 years no doubt that midfield will be Vieira/Wilshere.

We can create a team just as menacing without them though...
any team with Wright will always be menacing. :farao:

The poll does not include current players.. Which all current players would make it? What do you think..?

Re: The Arsenal Dream Team
Not one, right now. Wilshere, maybe in the future. Compare the results thus far with the quality we put out on the pitch right now. Fabregas and RvP would come close, but then I see the number of appearances these guys have notched up and the contributions they have made in their times, and I can't possibly put Fabregas or RvP in that list then.

Re: The Arsenal Dream Team
Poor RvP - theres no way he'll make it in to that team. Bergkamp and Henry have those positions set for life. I'd bet my house on neither of them falling off those spots in the future of Arsenal.
Just out of Curiosity, which positions do you think we might see change in 10 years?

Re: The Arsenal Dream Team
Honestly, If it were possible we could have Wilshere/Ramsey/Frimpong at ages 30, then Lansbury kind of like we had Parlour. That would be incredible.

Re: The Arsenal Dream Team
Ljungberg Vieira Brady Pires
Bergkamp Henry
- I would have this midfield and attack

Re: The Arsenal Dream Team
Yeah thats been the set team for the past 5 or so years.
While i like Ljungberg and Pires, i think that there could be better players in those positions some time in the future. They are 'weak points', for lack of a better term

Bergkamp - Duh!
The other striker has to Henry.. No offense to the other greats, but the club top scorer has every right for the last striker spot..

I can't really think of any, but i'm sure theres a few players out there today i'd choose over them, but pretty much every other position i wouldn't want changed. Make sense?
Eg, Vieieieieira in his prime would be my perfect DM, Henry/Bergkamp combination is the best theres been for decades etc...
