Great signing for us. With Boerrigter always getting injured, this would add depth and experience to our squad. he is Ajax born and bred, so he knows our system and philosophy cheers

Wow do you follow us? He has been incedible for us. In the game against Breda he was very good. I have high hopes for our team. I am quietly confident we can qualify for the next round.

I follow AZ, so I saw his debut and than shot off the top of the bar from the impossible angle.

Sana,Schone,Lukoki,Fischer all potential good talents but no real standouts. Vertonghen's gone,Anita is gone.

Ajax is weaker. A lot weaker. If they would have got a Viergever for a Vertonghen then maybe.

Lets see what Sana does. Personally it is hard to say if the likes of Sana & Lukoki will any better than Sulejmani.

On another note, Babel is painfully mediocre but would do well given how weak Eredivisie presently is.

Very good points. We are slightly weaker, but you are ovverstating it. What Frank de Boer has finally corrected is our dependance on individuals and is concentraiing a lot more on the system. Our football has remained the same despite the losses. Arsenal is the only other club I can say that has this. Other clubs depend on one indivdual. He is following van Gaal's model and rightly so. Obviously you need quality players to reach the next level, but as long as the sytem is in place, i am not to worried.

RealGunner wrote:Babel's last chance to revive his career

Very true. ALthough I do feel he was misused in Liverpool. Rememeber the goal he scored against Arsenal in the 2nd leg of the 2008 champions league final? Razz

PS RG please could you explain the differences between a mod and an admin? Thanks

Admins run the site, doing everything for editing forum-layout to dealing with user infractions. Moderators work mainly on user interactions; they deal out punishments when necessary, keep sections from getting messy with duplicate or off-topic threads, and otherwise make the Admin's lives easier Razz .

The current 6 (7) Admins are the group that created GL and were originally moderators on the goal.com affiliated forums before those were shut down and we made the big move.

On topic: I was extremely excited when Babel originally joined Liverpool and I'll admit I expected him to develop into a brilliant player for us. Unfortunately a combination of factors combined to end that possibility. This really is his last chance to sort himself out and get his career back on track... it's a bit cliche but he really does need to focus on football rather than tweeting and rapping, as his lack of focus and mentally fortitude has been as much (if not more) a factor in his fall/stall as any managerial mis-use.

Thank you. Sorry if it seemed like a stupid question. Still trying to get the lingo on the forum as well as seperating the decent posters from the insane!

Very true. I think footballers should be banned from twitter. I still think he has a lot to give football. Maybe knowing this is sort of his last chance will force him to develop into the player he was suppose to be.

I have always liked Babel, since the days he was linked with us. Wanted him at Arsenal before he went to liverpool. But like red said, he lost his way somewhere. He is really more interested in Tweeting than football.

Needs to sort it out

replace Babel with that fool Rio. Hope Ferdinand retires to be honest. When you are over 6'1 and Messi is beating you in the air, you have to start thinking of the end.

Great move on Ajax and Babel's part!!! I still love him as a player and hopefully he turns it around and reaches his potential.

I haven't gotten around to watch Ajax games this season yet, how is, the future Anfield legend, Kolbeinn Sigthorsson doing this season??
